Titleist 775 irons.

I’ve only swung the R7′s but after hitting a few with them I wouldnt even consider the other two.

Titleist…always Titleist. You can’t go wrong. I own the 690 MB irons. I would buy the 695 MB’s if buying a new set now. I love Titleist irons and wedges. )

Go with the Titleist the 775 is made for a higher handicap player like yourself they are the most forgiving irons that Titleist produces !

Get fitted by a pro and let him/her know what your preferences are. Since golf is mostly mental, all other things being equal, it comes down to what looks the best to you. They are all good clubs.

If you have to say go with the taylormade R7 irons. These clubs are very easy to hit and are very nice clubs. You can also change the weights in the clubs to make to hit your clubs even farther. The Taylormade r7 draws are also cheaper at 399 dollars on the website below.

Go to a professional shop that have a machine.

Take the two sets of irons on and try them out with the pro. He will be able to tell you which club suits you better, you may even find that another iron might be even better for you.

From there you should get them custom fitted.

I am telling you this from my own experiance of buying a driver. I tried out half a dozen drivers using a pro who was able to see which driver would be better than the last I tried.

I ended up getting a Jack Nicklous CD-Ti worth £100. This saved me alot of money over other clubs I was looking at. I was hitting my drives 280yards on the machine and scoring 80/100.

After I had that driver sorted I asked to have a go of the Taylormade R7 just too see how I would hit it, because I could of brought one from a friend.

I ended up only hitting it around 180yards, on a very very very low loft. If I had brought that driver…where would I of been? I was only scoring 30/100 with this driver.

Thats proof that the biggest brands don’t always work for everybody and you must try out equipment and not just buy them because you think they will be good for you.

Find a shop where you can hit these off a mat, go in with an open mind there are many good clubs out there. talk to the folks in the shop about your game then let them help you pick out a few others to try along with these. Hit them off the mat and settle on two. the ask to take them out to a range to hit off turf, they usually charge $ 25 for this but will deduct it off the price of the clubs when you buy.

if you are thinking about buying them….you should actually hit them to see if they will work for your particular swing and game…..this is not about how someone else hits them….it is strictly a you thing

My wife plays with a men’s set of R7 irons, regular and uses the draw for her driver and 3 wood. She is a 3 handicap. She loves the feel and performance. She shot a 72 today in team play. But as everyone will tell you – you have to hit with them to see if you like them.

You only buy the R7 Draw Irons if you have a slice problem. I have a set and I love it. I bought co’z I have problem with my swing always slices it. But I’m planning to get the regular R7 or Burner. I don’t think you need draw set co’z you’ll playing well shoot around 85. Try to get the regular R7 or if not got to golf store and demo it. Good Luck!

Being an 85 shooter I’m guessing your irons aren’t slicing as much as other clubs, but If your still having trouble with slicing your irons I would check them out. The “draw” name is basically another way of saying offset with weighting in the heel, therefore straightening out a slicer or giving a straight shooter more left movement. It’s just a gimmick but they are very easy to hit irons. I would look into the regular r7 clubs and straightening your swing out versus a ‘band-aid’ club. I play the Taylor Made RAC Lt2′s and love em, u might wanna check those out. Good luck.

The “draw” series clubs from Taylor Made will help you if you have a slice. However, if you are consistently shooting an 85 you probably dont have too much of a slice problem. As you keep playing your swing will continue to improve, and if you buy the “draw” clubs you will actually start to have a bad hook problem. I learned from experience. I used to slice badly but took lessons and found that you can correct a slice by adjusting your grip. I had my TM quad driver set to the draw weight and started to snap hook all of my drives after the lessons and had to reset the weights to a neutral ball flight position. I now have a soft draw ball flight. You should go to a professional fitter and let him/her find the right clubs for your swing.
