The Ping Rapture driver features an oversized 460cc Titanium-Composite club head that incorporates a patent-pending web crown design that allows 20 grams of weight to be positioned inside the club head for a higher launch and lower spin. A thin, variable thickness face increases ball speed for increased total driver distance.

Question
I purchased what I have found by research to be a pretty good golf club to resell on ebay and I have been asked this question buy an interested buyer? How do I answer it? I play golf but I’ve never had custom clubs made or anything and I am not aware of what it means other than guessing it has something to do with the angle of the club head & face?
Answered by low_hd_rider
it should say offset on it but if not the hosel sits foward of the face of the club somewhat, look at another wood that you know is not an offset and compare the two.An offset club helps those people who have a slice that they just can’t correct with a wood.I have an off set driver because i like to hammer the ball and i tend to get a little side spin that causes the ball to slice, the offset helps correct this problem and my ball goes down the fairway and not off to the side
Answered by googie
Most irons and woods have faces whose sole edge follows the same line as the shaft. On the offset face, the sole of the club is set back fron the line of the shaft. Ping g2 is the model; 460 cc is the size of the driver’s head and the 11.5 degrees is the loft angle of the driver face.
Answered by Jonesy boy
to keep this answer to the point, i have off set clubs and the heads are turnt in, if you sit the club down and it sits naturally, the club heads faces left, then they are off set, not straight like a normal club.
Answered by ixnaytim
Have it tested by a club fitter.
Answered by Vegas Matt
I’m 99.9% sure the Ping G2 driver is not an offset club. The .1% uncertainty is because I do not have one if front of me right this second.
Question
I know they have a color code red, black, blue etc. But which one is right for me? What are the most recent versions? I am 6 1 and 145 pounds. I am an intermediate golfer. I purchased a crappy set of golf clubs and couldn’t hit the ball for sh(*. Literally 50 avg. from the whites. Then I try my cousins ping driver and I BLAST IT LIKE CRAZY, I was so pumped. I hit at least 275.
So any advice on ping or other brands that are great not good. would be appreciated.
Cheers!

I have the Ping G5 driver and Rapture Driver(which is the newest).I advise you to buy the latter as it is very long and forgiving. They also make great putters too,the g5 one is very easy to use.Irons-wise,go into the local and get custom fitted, the lates ping irons are the raptures but the G5 may suit you better so just rent out a 6 and 8 iron from each set and then make up your mind!

Simply put …..the ones you hit best!… go to a good golf store and hit several different brands on a launch monitor…..The data will tell you not only what clubs to buy but also show you why.
Answered by Golf Freak
Hit the models and find out… try the G5 model and Rapture if you got the cash

G5 Go to Ping.com and they will give you your “color code”

Question
I`ve heard Ping TISI is one of the top hitters.
The person hitting it goes without saying.
Answered by TDUB
Its not the club that matters, its the person swinging it
Answered by JSAL21
depends whose behind the club
Answered by spacedude4
I have seen, on TV, a man use an iron to hit a ball farther that most people ever could! It is the technique that allows someone to hit the ball a long way. If you hit it 400 yards and 75 yards sideways it is useless.
Answered by Gol4dude
Callaway FT-5.
Answered by wbaker777
Considering that the TISI is a few years outdated. and with the normal advance in technology.. I doubt that the TISI still has the same status it once did.

  1. Flatstick says:

Offset just means that the clubface is behind the shaft when you set the club down like you are about to hit it. The shaft goes straight down until it gets to the hosel, then there is a little bend to the right and the clubhead is behind the shaft. I am not familiar with all the different Ping clubs so can’t say for sure, buy you should be able to tell easily by looking at it.

  2. Spartan Golfer says:

The Ping TISI is pretty old now.

All drivers today are pretty similar, just whatever you’re comfortable with.

But I’d say the Taylormade Burner, and the Callaway Ft-5.

The Burner is an extremely lightweight and aerodynamic club, which makes you swing faster resulting in longer drives.

The Callaway Ft-5 is normal weight, it just has a high-tech clubhead.

  3. Asian Bullet says:

the clubs with the highest moment of inertia would be the taylormade burner and superquad. they are at 5800 moi. the moi helps the ball go further. go for those if you are looking for long.

  4. doingitright44 says:

probably some illegal bomb that tour players dont use…extra long hitting drivers are for amateur players primarily because all the engineering and corporate sponsorship is to help elevate a brand to a point where the amateur player will buy the clubs , major clubmaker marketing is aimed at the casual amateur player using the pros statistics…most successful professional players play clubs, especially drivers …by sponsorship…and all professional players dont need the extra yards as much as they need accuracy…all male touring pros have a swing over 125 mph and have tons more issues keeping the ball in short grass on tough courses, especially the hyper tough major event courses…
