Question
I am about a 12-15 handicap. What color would be the best?
Answered by torchy005
The colour of the dot corresponds to the lie angle of the club. Ping strongly believes in custom-fitting, so when you get custom fit they will determine the best lie angle/colour for you. It doesn’t have to do with skill level, a 25 handicap and a +4 handicap could both use 2º upright, or they could both use 2º flat. What matters is getting the club to fit you and your swing.

Here’s a chart of what the colour codes represent: http://www.ping.com/pdfs/PING_Color_Code_Chart.pdf

Answered by Ellein Smith
These twelve colored dots signify twelve lie angles, each varying by .75 degree.

Maroon = 4.5° upright
Silver = 3.75° upright
White = 3° upright
Green = 2.5° upright
Yellow = 1.5° upright
Blue = .75° upright
Black = standard
Red = .75° flat
Purple = 1.5° flat
Orange = 2.25° flat
Brown = 3° flat
Gold = 3.75° flat

Question
i came across an old set of ping eye 2 irons with a + on the head they are black dot and quite worn and i would like to try and sharpen the groves, but not sure what type of groves they have , and what dose the + sign indicate on the head, if anything. thanks in advance for any info provided.
Answered by wbaker777
The Eye 2′s came out in about 1982 The Eye 2 + was 1990. If memory serves me Ping had a dispute with the USGA on the Eye 2′s in about 1988 because of square grooves. Because Ping ultimately won that dispute I believe all Ping Irons have had Square grooves since the Eye 2′s first came out…..I could be wrong on that….but you are relying on an old mans memory lol
Question
Im looking at them for a new set…im looking for the handicap of a person who should hit them or an average score that one needs to hit to be able to hit these irons consistently.
Answered by moehckyglf3
if you have a handicap of about 8 or lower you should have no problem. im a 6 and hit the mizuno equivalent of the S57s (MP 60s) and have no problem striking them
Answered by c g +1
I don’t know if it is an exact score, but you are probably looking at a low single digit handicapper as the person they are best for. You definitely want to be someone who hits the ball on the sweet spot and has no trouble getting the ball in the air. I would look for a player who hits no more than 7 iron from 160 yards, 5 iron at least 185 as the prototype for this club.
Answered by Drive for show
Why kill yourself, this game is hard enough stick with a top line club that is forgiving.
Question
are my ping g10 irons real……serial number 3A3757E…..also the logos on the shafts are facing up….arent they suppose to be down.
Answered by green_lantern66
You’re going to have to contact Ping themselves, and check the serial number with them. That’s the most accurate way to find out.
