The extreme perimeter weighting and wider soles of the Rhapsody Irons result in higher-launching, more accurate approach shots. Combined with a lighter overall weight and wider loft gaps, the stainless steel irons provide you consistent results from every club in your set.

Question
I got a used set of Ping Eye 3 irons with 4 wedges. I know the “W” is the regular wedge, the “S” is the sand wedge, and the “L” is the lob wedge but what is the “U” wedge? Does it mean “Utility” or “Up and Down”? And what’s the loft, is it between the Lob and Sand wedge or the Sand wedge and the pitching wedge?
Answered by John B
It mean utility and it is normally 52 degrees.
Answered by madmadison28

Titleist Ap2 710 Irons
Nike Vr Tour Black Gap Wedge
Nike Vr Sand Wedge
Taylormade xFT 60* Lob wedge
Adams A7 64 Series Select putter
Answered by Football Freak
Its a good club but I am sold for Taylormade. So I would get the new Rescue or Raylor. Both are good clubs.
Answered by .
i have the raylor 3 hybrid and the adams a4os 4 hybrid

they’re both really good but i dont know about nike hybrids unless you go with the VR hybrid
they’re the only good nike hybrids

Bottom line is id go with taylormade or adams

Question
Ok so i have a little bit of a dilemma. in my bag im carrying 4 wedges: a 45 (pitching wedge), a 50 (utility wedge), a 60*, and a 64*. I really don’t find my 64 as useful as i thought so do you think it would be a wise idea to trade in my 50 and 64 …. and maybe get a 56?????? let me know watcha think ……….
Answered by leemill02
i would definitely get rid of the 64 and pick up a 54 or 56…you should still be easily at 14 clubs with 4 wedges.
Answered by Robert
64 wedge is to use to pop the ball into your breast pocket or plop it on your hat like they do in those tepan yaki steak houses. I took the 60 out of my bad, I was cuffing it or popping them straight up. So I have the P edge A wedge and the S wedge, I just open the face of the S we’ve to get the ball in the air. If the ball is near the green and unsure how the ball is going to react use the 8 or 7 iron and chip it like a putter
Answered by BusterRhymes
Definitely you need a 56 and 60, you don’t need a 64 because if you are good enough, you can hit the ball and catch it:

or hit it again:

You want even spacing between wedges. This gives you a generally consistent distance spacing. You also should base it all off the PW. So, if you have a 45* PW, get a 50* GW, 55* SW (a 56* bent to 55* is my preference*), and a 60* LW. That’s if you want 5* between wedges. Some people prefer 4*, some more. It’s up to the individual and their ability.

Sergio Garcia, for example, has a 46* PW, 52* GW and a 58* SW that also doubles as a LW (he goes a step further by grinding down the sole a bit to change the bounce in certain areas). He has 6* between each wedge.

I agree that the 64* should be taken out, at least until you go to a specific course that truly calls for those types of specialty shots. You can easily open your LW, open your stance and have the same resulting ball flight.

*= I say get a 56 bent to 55, but that’s if the bounce angle is 14* or greater. When you strengthen a club’s loft, for every degree you do it you also subtract a degree of bounce (don’t go over 2*, though… it makes the club virtually unplayable). So, if you have a higher bounce angled SW and strengthen it, you’ll still have plenty of bounce for the club to do it’s primary job: extract the ball from the sand.

Of course, this works in reverse, as well: for every degree the club is made weaker (say, a 54 to a 55) the bounce increases in a 1:1 ratio. So, if you were to find a 54* model with a “normal” bounce (~12*), you can make this work because the loft increase will then add another degree of bounce… making the club a little more playable from the sand. The choice, as always, is up to the individual.

I don’t know if you seen the latest Cleveland Golf commercial with tour pros who discuss the progression of their wedges by loft. One guy’s progression was 48, 54, 60. Another guy’s was 48, 52, 56, 60, and so on. You have a 10 degree difference in loft from one wedge to the next. Why? Typically you should have a minimum of 4 degrees difference from one wedge to the next. I just play 3 wedges(pw-48*, gw-52*, and sw-56*). I used to have a lob wedge, but I found it to be the cleanest club in my bag because I never hit it. Therefore I replaced it with a 2 hybrid, which I use more than I ever used that lob wedge. I can hit my sw high or low and use it for 95% of my chipping. Definitely get a 56* wedge.
Question
I just got my turn out gear and right off the bat my officers started handing us miscellaneous items they said would come in handy. I’m wondering if any firefighters can speak with wisdom or personal experience on what else I should add that might come in handy or save my life.

Here’s what I have or am going to get:
- Paper towels in a bag (toilet paper?)
- Rubber medical gloves with an alcohol swab
- A wooden wedge for shutting off sprinklers
- and a pocket or utility knife which Anyone should Always have on them.

Answered by ravenjudge
is there still that tiny roll of duct tape included? add it if not; you’d be amazed how many things you’ll use it for. I added the bright pink stuff.
Answered by Firecracker .
A folding spanner wrench.
A spare pair of fire gloves for when the first get soaked.
Flashlight.

It means “Utility”. Same thing as the answerer above me. It’s between the pitching wedge and the sand wedge.

  2. rjmack74 says:

if your 50* wedge matches your set ( and you like it ) keep it and get a 55* & a 60* which is what I did and I couldn’t be happier. To my surprise, the newer wedges out there were substantially better than the 10 yr. old wedges I was playing. Big improvement even with the new grooves.

I can’t hit wedges from the fairway that have a lot of bounce. I bought wedges with about 8* bounce or a little less and find them very easy to hit from tight lies. For about $ 4/club you can get many different things done to new wedges i.e. “C” grind etc. which amazed me. Find out which wedges are right for you…I hit the Ping better than Cleveland or Titleist…another shock …so that’s what I bought.

    Good luck
