Question
Iv really done it this time. me and a few friends decided to hit a few golf balls into an empty field last weekend and on the first drive attempt, the head shot of the shaft, about 15 feet away. to make it worse, my dad, who hasn’t needed his golf clubs in years, asked me for his putter and driver, which is what he lent to me. after being questioned, i went with the lying technique, instead of telling him what happened. i told him i haven’t seen it in a while. in anger he took away a lot of precious items from me and said i could get them back if he gets his driver. it snapped right at the meeting point between the head and shaft. any help would be gladly appreciated. thank you so much!

Chris all is not lost. It is possible that all that happened was that the head came of the shaft and it you might be able to have it epoxied back on. If it really did snap then take it to your local golf store and have the driver repaired. The shaft can easily be replaced.
Answered by MC
It’s not such a big deal. The club can be repaired. My suggestion is this: tell your dad what happened. Heads either pop off or snap the shaft at the top of the hosel all the time. You can re-epoxy the oroginal shaft if it is still intact. If it has broken or if it is compromised in any way, then just replace it. Tell your father what happened and ask if him if he would maybe like a different shaft put in his driver. We change driver shafts all the time for no good reason except that we want something new. He may welcome the opportunity to try something new and improved..Good luck!!
Answered by Mark
if its under a year old the shaft should still be under warranty, send it in to the manufacturer and get it replaced, if its not, get the shaft replaced at a local golf shop

Actually, it’s not as bad as you think, so long as you have some cash on hand. Take the head to a club maker. S/He can extract the broken shaft and check the head for any damage. If there’s nothing broken, a new shaft can be installed. If you keep the shaft, the builder can find the same, or something similar to it. All it’d cost is parts and labor.
