Question
Titleist clubs are by far the most expensive out there.. they arent sold at major retailers such as dicks or sports authority like every other brand out there either. they only make better player and tour irons and no major game improvement clubs besides their vokey design wedges which are the most used wedges on tour. the titleist balls and scotty cameron putters are also the best around but yet the only things sold widely are the balls. golf digest doesnt even compare or rate their irons , woods, or hybrids in there articles. is the titeilist brand elite compared to other brands and are they the best performance wise.
Answered by andy e
honestly i dont understand the hype of the titleist products. ive demoed their irons b4 and i wasnt at all impressed. their vokey wedges, i liked them but they were nothing special surely not worth the extra money over the nike sv tour wedges or victory red wedges. personally i love odyssey putters over anything else. and their balls ehhh they r pretty good but i like my 30 buck a dozen callaways and now nike one blacks r cheaper to so ide rather not spend the extra 15 bucks. all i can see for golf digest not rating their equipment is bc its just so extravigantly priced that the average human being isnt gonna waste that much money. they do make a rather nice umbrella tho i have 1 of those (:

It’s a matter of opinion, just like some people prefer Craftsman tools over others, or Ford vehicles over others.

There are plenty of other brands that make quality golf equipment. Golf Digest does rate them in their yearly Hot List. They usually score very high, but only out-rate other brands in the “demand” category (which, coincidentally, they usually are runner-up to TaylorMade). They get criticized for lacking in overall innovation and not making products for mid-to-high handicap golfers.

Titleist takes on an elitist point of view, at least in my opinion. You can only get them from online places like The Golf Warehouse, or certified Titleist dealers (though they seem hard to find).

A lot of places, like D ick’s or Sports Authority don’t carry Titleist because it doesn’t make sense, financially, to do so. Everyone knows that Titleist is geared towards low handicaps- and there aren’t that many of those types in the world compared to the rest of my fellow Weekend Warriors. Why pay to have them, but not be able to move them out the door? Besides, other brands have just as good quality but use technology to help the “average” golfer.

I own Titleist clubs, and have played many other types. I think it depends on your game, if your just starting to play, brand doesn’t matter. they are more expensive, and if your buying them make sure they “fit”. Have the loft/lie checked. know what type of swing speed you have.
Question
Taylormade 09 Burner driver 9.5
Taylormade Tour Burner Irons 4-SW
Ping Eye 2 Putter(almost 30 years old lol)

Getting a used titleist 585.H 3 Hybrid and a new Taylormade rac or Nike sv tour wedges
Im probably not going to get any woods

Answered by green_lantern66
Do you hit them well? That’s the only thing you need to think about. Not what I say, or anyone else. Everyone has their biases, but if you’re comfortable with those clubs (even the 30 year old one), don’t let anyone tell you different.

As an aside, there is no rule that says you HAVE to have a fairway wood. If you hit hybrids better, by all means, go that route (Anthony Kim does it that way, for a pro example). As for your putter, technology has been tweaked in 30 years, but some of the best available today are the same as that 30 year old model.

That looks like a good choice of clubs to play with
Question
Taylormade 09 burner driver
taylormade tour burner irons(4-sw)
Taylormade rac satin LW(or nike sv tour LW, not sure yet.)
Titleist 909h 3 hybrid
ping eye 2 putter
no woods
Answered by x-15a2
I’d recommend a 3 wood to fill the gap between that driver and 3 hybrid. Remember, the hybrid replaces a 3 iron, no a fairway wood.
Answered by Rohan
I would definately add a 3 wood to this list, and maybe a 5 wood depending on you skill level. I would probably look at buying the wedges seperate and not of the set as they can often be better quality, and maybe look atother brands to see the difference in flight for you. Good Luck
