i know a fairway wood is like a 5 wood, but don’t know the rest. it all depends on the loft of your club, check to see if it gives a number for loft
Answered by chimpotle
Fairway wood is just that – a fairway wood like in any other set.

Long hybrids replace 3 and 4 irons.

Mid hybrids replace 5, 6, and 7 irons

Short irons are normal 8 and 9 irons and pitching wedge.

Long Hybrid: 2,3,4 Iron
Mid Hybrid: 5,6,7 iron
Fairway wood: 3-5 wood
Short Iron: 8,9 iron/ Pitching Wedge

Question
I am looking for some Adams Idea irons that include the 3 and 4 hybrids. I would like to find a wholesale distributor as I would be interested in selling the clubs too on Ebay. (I would sell any clubs on ebay as long as they are name brands…no knockoffs)

Question
I used a borrowed set of Pings for a couple years, but now want to purchase my own clubs. I was seriously looking at a set of Adams Idea a2 OS clubs… but the price just for a hybrid/iron set is $ 499. That’d leave me to purchase a 3 and 5 wood at about $ 100 each, a driver at about $ 1-200. Plus a bag at another $ 70-100, and a putter at about $ 50. That’s $ 8-900… more than I was thinking of spending.

I wanted to use a hybrid set since I (like other beginners) have trouble with the long irons. I checked on some used clubs, but for hybrids I found that the used irons aren’t much cheaper (read: $ 70) than the new set. For drivers and fairway woods, I can get some good deals. Putters are a wash.

The irons I am considering: http://www.adamsgolf.com/Ideaa2a2OSHybrids.htm

If you can suggest hybrid irons, or a complete set of irons, woods, and driver… that would be nice. (I’ll probably pick up a couple wedges and putter separately, and I can manage picking out the bag).

since you have been playing golf for couple of years now, its time for you to get some quality clubs. of course you can get some that are out-dated and discounted, or even knockoffs, but in the long run, for sure you will need to buy something else again. why not buy something that will last longer. ever consider some player’s iron? such as new forge callaway? cavity mizuno? R7 forge taylormade?. these are expensive but at least you will not have to change for at least 5 years if you take good care of them.
i really believes in you get for what you pay, expecially for golf.
i know that cleveland have new hybrid sets too, but its more than your budget. personally, you dont need 3 and 5 woods, unless you are really attacking the golf course. i can still play in the 80s teeing off with my 4 hybrid and driver. i dont even have 5 wood in my bag. and 3 wood is really use to reach par5 in 2 shot.

I think you will be very happy with the Adams clubs. They are a good compromise between value and quality. You don’t want to go too cheap because you won’t get the quality and durability. I used to work at a major sporting goods chain and I always thought these were the best value. My job was to sell golf clubs and fit the customer to the right set. Yes, we did have cheaper clubs — complete sets with bag and all, but if you have been using Pings, you will notice the difference in quality right away. Keep in mind that you don’t have to buy everything at once, even though you probably want to. Continue to use your old bag and old putter. Even pros sometimes don’t get rid of their old, old putters. You can add these later.

look up golfworks.com they have a better product but charge more for their shipping. golfsmith has lost orders that i have placed two times and said they have shipped me something when i never got it, and refused to replace it or refund my money. leaderboard golf is good also. they are all online.
Answered by chimpotle
yes – the adams are a good set. You can save yourself some money by scouring e-bay. My buddy get a set (3-PW) for $ 300. Buy used driver and putter for about $ 150 (you can always upgrade when budget allows).

Check Costco for bags – i got a great sun mountain bag there for $ 60 – retail was $ 130.

Answered by doingitright44
consider going used…retail clubs are marked up over 50% and return on average only 40 to 60% of retail price when traded in…you can get used clubs for 20%-40% off retail on certain sites…I would suggest you look up golfclubexchange.com , Ive purchased many items from them and was always satisfied, they have refund value for repurchase if you arent happy with what you get… now remember to keep your head down, work hard, good luck and putt well!!

Well personally, i don’t care how new you are to golf, you should have every club in the bag, so that crosses out the Cobras. From then on the two Adams sets are both good. It’s whether or not you want to pay an extra $ 300 dollars for more quality clubs (They wouldn’t cost more if they wasn’t better). I would go with the IDEA A70s but if your more pressed for cash you can get the Tight Lines Plus and invest in a better set a few years down the road when your game improves. Hope my advice helps.
Answered by J P
They are all 3 great clubs. With the Cobra set you’re going to want to pick up a 4 & 6 Iron somewhere to go with it. I have played with the Adams Tight Lies before, very forgiving clubs.
Answered by Robert
i am not a cobra or adams person so i would by used taylors or callaway. as to what i would use a driver or 3 wood for teeing off. maybe 5 wood, but 7 wood and 4 hybrids may be over coverage.i would put in a 60 degree wedge
