Try different ones out to find what feels the best for you. The two ball putters made by Odyssey are good for alignment. I have a Nike Blue Chip Mallet putter and I love the way it feels. I have sampled several putters. To find what is best you must do the same. I am partial to Nike products.

my oppinion it is not the putter but the person putting. i have tried different putters on different slopes, i even carry 2 different ones in my bag. putters dont have sweet spots or help prevent pushes or pulls. but in all honesty the best putter is the one you can practice with the most(basically the one in your bag)

Answered by Big Daddy
All high end putters are basically the same in component and quality, meaning they are balanced and properly aligned. In choosing the putter for you, you will just have to pick what ever makes it easier for you to visiualize your putt and your stroke to go on the right line. For example, alot of people like the two-ball putter b/c it helps them see how the putt is lined up. To some, it don’t matter b/c they mark their ball one way or another to line-up with the putt accordingly.
Answered by guitarmas5
Never Compromise Z/I Gamma is my favorite for accuracy. Awesome putter. Also, Titleist Scotty Camerons have the best feel of any putters I’ve ever tried.

Oh, and yes, putters DO have sweet spots. If you miss the sweet spot you’ll have some distance control and accuracy problems.

Question
I just got a new golf set but it didn’t come with a putter Im looking to actually spend about $ 175 or less but I will spend 200 if necessary.
Answered by sirshanksalot
The least expensive milled-face putter is the Cleveland Classics series at 80 dollars. Good roll if you don’t like insert faces. My favorite putter for under 150 is the Odyssey White Hot XG series #9. All of them roll well but 9 is the same one Lefty uses. A newer boutique brand that has gained popularity lately is the YES Golf C-Groove Putter. It all depends on what you prefer: Milled: Cleveland, Insert:Odyssey, and boutique blend: YES!

I bought a Odyssey White Hot XG Marxman (about $ 180) and its by far the best one to get. I have a friend in the nationwide tour who was using the Odyssey White Hot XG #7 and switch to the marxman cause it lines up the ball so well you don’t even need a putting aid cause its pretty much already there and it actually brought his putting strokes down and uses it all the time but look it up i promise its worth it.

Question
90′s scorer player who loves golf, 35 male, need new putter that wont break my bank account.
Answered by ascarta2
well everyone is so different its really hard to name a good one. Go to a store that has a good putting area and try out everything. when I did that I found the best one for me was some cheep no name brand (think its call black velvet or something weird like that) I am at work now so I cant tell you what it was called. Don’t pay any attention to the name on it, only see how it feels and how you sink puts with it.
Answered by Nostradamus
u should try some out to see which one suits your eye. I like the 2-Ball from Oddessy, it keeps your putting stroke straight.
Answered by bballer8908
If you are looking for a great putter that is inexpensive, then check out the Oddessy DFX putters. They cost around $ 60-$ 70.

Use a putter that complements your putting stroke. The larger mallet putters with ridiculous amounts of alignment aids on them are face weighted and meant to be swung straight along the target line and back through. Blade putters (heel-to-toe weighted) putters are actually made to open and close slightly from back to front on the target line. It basically comes down to your putting stroke and how much weight you need to feel comfortable striking the ball. I prefer the blade style because of my stroke and I’m worried of smashing the ball past the hole with the larger putters. Good luck and keep practicing.

Scotty Cameron Putter is one of the best!

  3. B.A. Baracus says:

Putters are such an individual thing…what works for one guy won’t work for another…and some people can putt lights out with a $ 10 Kmart putter, while others can’t putt with an $ 800 Scotty Cameron. You’ll need to try a few out and see.

Personally, I have putted with a Scotty Cameron that I got used on Ebay, for a couple years now, and I think it’s the best putter I’ve ever used. (I don’t think this every time out however) :-)

  4. kitchens68 says:

Last year I put the SeeMore FGP putter in my bag and since then, I’ve been much more consistant. You can buy the original for around $ 120-$ 150 depending on where you buy. The riflescope technology forces you to set-up the same for each putt, which will improve your consistancy. It’s is a milled putter with no face insert. One of the best in my opinion. Payne Stewart used one in 1999 to win the US Open and Zach Johnson used it to win the Masters in 2007. Both golfers previously used Scotty Cameron putters from Titleist (considered by many to be the best – definitely the most expensive).

I collect putters, I try out all the new stuff each year, I’ll test them out on practice rounds once or twice then unload them. My friends love me I give them great deals on slightly used putters,
But when I tee it up for a league match or local events…
You will only find one of my Scotty Camerons in the bag. The finest putters in the world.

The Odyssey White Hot XG 2-Ball SRT “Lined” Putter. It has an alignment line on top of it unlike other 2-Ball putters.

    Here it is: http://www.tgw.com/customer/category/product.jsp?SUBCATEGORY_ID=9084

The “XG” insert is really soft feeling, and gives you good feedback if you hit it off center. The “SRT” Rings around it give the putter more balance and a higher MOI. The 2-Ball and line is for alignment. Plus, it looks really cool.

You can see a bunch of pictures and info here: http://www.tgw.com/customer/category/productTour.jsp?id=9084

  9. Doug says:

Try every putter you can get your hands on. Ask if you can use the on the putting green. Heavy putter’s for slow greens and light putters for fast greens. Stay away from the putter that take all day to line up. When you come across a putter that looks good and feels good. That is the one for you, it may be $ 19.95 or more. All putters feel different. So, make sure when you find the one you like, get that putter.

  10. LaserDude says:

Whatever feels best, and gets the job done.

  11. rgetso says:

If there was a “best” putter, then all the pro’s would be using it. Get something that you like and can afford. Then, go get the thing fit to YOU.

The most important thing you can do is to have your golf equipment fit to you. Your current putter is probably fine. However, it may need a little tweaking. That is, the lie angle might need adjusting or the length my be a little wrong for you. Putters are very easy to lengthen and/or shorten. Another thing to experiment with is the grip. Buy several different sizes of grips from the fat paddle grips down to little skinny grips. You will be amazed at the difference in feel and accuracy of each. Once you get all the variables (lie angle, length, grip size, and total weight) figured out, then it’s time to practice.

My favorite putter is the Seemore like the one Payne Stewart used to win the US Open before he died. Zach Johnson uses a similar putter except his is black and Payne’s is brass.

My next favorite is the old Ping Anser but it is a little too light for me. However, lead tape can fix that problem.
