Question
I am a 5’2″ female golfer who is looking to purchase new irons. I have been playing with petite length clubs for a couple of years, but have read that they decrease distance but provide more accuracy. Anyone have a suggestion?
Answered by Bop L
I play with lady’s clubs there a little short for me, (I’m 5’9)

Get fitted at a pro shop if you are getting new clubs. It will cost more money, but it will increase consistency and all around performance.
Question
I have a complete set (e.g., 3 woods, putter, 7 irons)of ladies left-handed Spalding golf clubs in excellent condition. I never got into the whole golf thing and so they have sat in my storage area for a number of years after only 3 visits to the range. I’ve decided its time to sell them. I’ve looked on-line but haven’t been able to come up with a fair price since Spalding doesn’t seem to be very popular. Any thoughts on determining a fair value?
Answered by Greg Sharps
Sure for the right price maybe like 50 bucks
Answered by JD
Honestly, the market for Spalding clubs is hard enough; Spalding, ladies, left handed, clubs is even harder.

A fair price is whatever you can get for them. $ 25-$ 50 would be the expected sale price when you find a buyer.

Question
Hi! so I got into golfing and me and my dad is going to the field weekly.
I get lesson 3 times a week and practice my swinging 30minutes everyday where my dad tells me what I am doing wrong. I use lady’s golf club you can fin at costco for 200bucks that my neighbor got (they gave it to us when they went back to Korea)
And way.. I am hitting 120 with 7 iron and 220 with my driver.
My coach tells me that it is little small for me and tells me that I should get the size that he have.
I used my dad’s clubs (HONMA BERES MG-703 2 star) and it is comfortable. He tells me that I should get adult size. We were looking at ebay for some callaway x18 or x20. But I want to know if there is any other good iron that wasn’t released not too long ago(around the time x 18 or 20 was released) not very expensive (around 200dollar at ebay[in good condishion hopefully..]) and forgiving.
I know callaway is good choice but I want to see other choices. I full set of x18 sold for 170 but slept too late to bid at the last moment… anyways.. Thanks!
Also I am only looking for graphite

Go to your local golf shop and get fitted, then look for the same brand in a previous year model. Ping is a good place to start for irons. Also, get a grammar lesson or two to go with the golf lessons. Golf is a sport for the literate.

You did right thing as learning first time to swing as correct and looking forward to play the golf more often. Now, you are planning to buy your own set…. I recommend for you to go to your local golf store and let them measure and fitting for you by their computer then you will swing the driver and iron by the computer reading, then they will give you several brand of golf which right fit for you!

Before, I really want to have a Nike set as my goal, then I went to my local golf store and the guy figure out on his computer and showed me what I did on swing… I surprised that Callaway is my best performance than Nike! I brought the Callaway set and I still playing the golf every weekend!

It’s like wrestling with crocodiles you check you still got all the parts in the right condition!
Answered by Brandon
I would look for a testing range or driving range that has new or used clubs to try them out before buying. I prefer the NIke Ignite which i got on sale at myrtle beach for 250$ . They are extremely nice has one of the best grips in my opinion. I do agree with that callaway is nice too. And something else to keep in mind is that the length of the club is different so be careful when shopping online like ebay.
Question
This set has PW – 3 iron and a set of woods from 1, 3 ,5, and 7 and they are in new cond. I think the irons have been hit probably 2 times and the only marks of being hit are the scuffs on the 1 driver. From the late 1970′s with a yellow hooded ladies golf bag (including a small matching zippered purse).

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they are really of no value on todays market. They are not collectable. Either sell them at a garage sale for maybe $ 50 or better yet donate them to a golf youth league for new golfers. Call your Play It Again store and ask them what they would give you for them. Save them for a granddaughter.
Answered by bigman42718
not a lot to be honest with you. they are not in the highly collectable even if brand new. the technology has changed drastically since the 1970′s. the guy who said yard sale was correct. ebay and set ur min acceptable price. if someone wants them they will pay what u want. if you get no bids then you know they are not collectable.

try “craigslist” link below for your city. your best bet is to find someone that wants those particular clubs. otherwise i concur with those answers before me. you may try taking to golfsmith as well.

  1. Jason G says:

Because of your height, you have to use female clubs. You’re not tall enough to use men’s clubs. You can always have them custom fitted. Something to consider.

  2. Flatstick says:

The proper length club has nothing to do with how tall a person is. What matters is if your arms are in proportion to your body. A person with short arms will need longer clubs, and vice versa. A longer club creates a wider arc in the swing, thus more clubhead speed at impact and more distance. Accuracy is a matter of the clubhead being square at impact (up to you not the length of club). If you go to a reputable retailer for the clubs (Golf Galaxy, Golfsmith) they will fit you for length (as well as loft and lie) at no extra charge.
