Question
I dont have a golf store where I can test them. I am either going to choose the Ping G10 21 degree hybrid or the cobra DWS Baffler hybrid 20 degrees. How much further do hybrids go than irons?
Answered by seth w
I would always recommend demoing a club before buying it, but if its not an option I would suggest the Ping for a lower handicap and the Cobra if your handicap is over about a 12. Hybrids won’t necessarily go a whole lot farther than your long irons. However, they are much easier to hit straight, they are easier to get up in the air making it easier to hold a green from over 200, and they are great out of short rough. You might also want to think about a Nickent. Last time I checked they were very popular on tour.

i can honestly say i have both hybrids and both are great. I have a 18 degree ping and 23 degree cobra. The ping in my opinion has a lower flight path than the cobra and also goes farther( no its not just because it has a lower loft ). Hybrids dont add alot of distance to your shots, they just help you hit it higher and straighter.

Question
Right now I have 1996 Ping IST Irons. My pops has the Ping Rapture V2, and I took my four iron out of the bag, so I borrowed his iron, and it’s thicker than my PW. It was so easy to hit, and I’m jealous. My irons are thin, and it’s about time for a new set. Money is a problem, because I’m 15, and I have to pay for my set myself. I’m hoping for maybe a 3-PW.
Also on a note, I haven’t really looked around a bunch, I was just hoping that G10′s would go down A LOT when the K series came out, but they didn’t. And I don’t want hybrid irons, just a thick, more forgiving set. I am open to annnyyy suggestions.
Answered by Jon Dawson
I done a bit of research and the clubs that kept getting 10/10 is ping g10 they are exceptional clubs and really forgiving give them a go at your local shop they should let you try them. Also my advice is if you want to lower your handicapp since your 15 take a look at www.golfperfect.net they can seriously lower your handicapp gaurnteed also they give you your money back if you don’t lower handicapp. Visit it out

May be a discount golf clubs store is a better choice.I got may titleist ap2 710 forged irons last month,i think it’s great.
Answered by Smo0the177
I think you should buy some graphite shaft irons, instead of steel, especially if you are young. I used to use steel shaft irons for a while, until i switched to graphite. Once I switched, my iron game improved greatly. I had more control with my swing and trajectory. So what I would do if I were you, is go to your local sporting goods store and buy some graphite irons in the price range of 250-500 dollars.

I have them they are great! With my last crappy set a really good hit was as good as a thin hit with these.
Answered by golf19409
Callaways are pretty forgiving. I used to use them for a while, and I really liked them. Really easy to hit. Maybe you can buy an older model online or something.
Question

sounds as if you are bent for a set of pings . Go to ebay and watch and see if a set goes under the radar. Try coaxing pops into upgrading his equipment and handing his v2′s down . Or ask the ‘rents for a set around b-day , christmas .
