    Question
Last year, I bought a set of John Daly golf clubs made by Dunlop. These clubs are now too small for me and I wanted to sell them. The set comes with a driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 hybrid iron ,4-9 irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and a putter. The set is made for people at the height of about 58-65 inches. The set of clubs also shows a little bit of wear marks from when I have hit the ball but no major dents or dings. How much would this set of clubs be worth?
    Answered by minish g
    100 to 200
    Answered by novacats5mc
    not much maybe 50
    Answered by Hawkeye™
Sorry to say they aren’t worth much, realistically you could sell them in the $ 50-$ 75 dollar range depending on the condition of course.
    Answered by Fergy
in perfect condition you could probably get around $ 150, in the condition you describe you could get $ 75-125. This sounds like a set that would come with a golf bag, and if you throw that in you could get $ 150.
    Question
ive been playing golf for about a year now and i have a set of dunlop clubs given to me. and im ready to buy a newer nicer set… but i have noticed that they very in price from a complete set including driver and hybrids and wedges with a bag for 300$ or u can buy just irons 4-pw for 900$ im aware a percent of that is name but what else makes a club cost so much diff from one to another?
    Answered by Brian H
Go to Ebay and search, New Taylormade Burner Irons 4-PW, you can buy those for around $ 250 and they are great irons! Then search Ping G15 Driver, you get that for like between $ 100-150 thats one of the best Drivers in golf. Then search for a Taylormade Burner Superfast 3 Wood, that auction will also end near $ 100-150. Now you have a great set for $ 650 at most! If you need a putter type in Odyssey Marxman Mini. I bought one of those on Ebay for $ 46.
    Answered by Steve from PA
why would u pay $ 900 for clubs u may not be able to hit..u have to find out what clubs work best through u through demo days…demo clubs preferablely at a driving range or a personal fitting..
    Answered by TONEY
Really it’s just the name on the club and how popular they are at the moment. Most clubs are overpriced and still have to fine tuned (fitted).
    Answered by old pro
Several things come into play that affect the price of a set of clubs and original equipment manufacturers are spending a small fortune paying the best players to use their clubs. They also spend lots on research and development along with advertising etc. Changing up their models a couple of times a year also adds to the expense. When all of these are factored in to what the public is willing to pay you wind up with some pretty expensive stuff. If a top name is what you want and most of us like to have the big names in our bags the best way to get a decent price is to buy one of the models when it becomes out dated and goes on sale. Manufacturers have reached the limits on technology already and the older clubs are just as good as the new models that come out with nothing more than a few cosmetic changes. A smart shopper can find some good prices if they spend some time and do their homework before buying. Some of the smaller manufacturers simply cut costs and use time proven designs to compete with the big boys so that is always an alternate way to go.

    Question
I need to get my 16 year old son golf clubs for golf team. He probably will not be competing, and this is his first experience so I do not want to spend a lot of money. Of course, he is being “peer sensitive” and doesn’t want something that will get laughed at. Here is what is on sale right now:

TOUR CRAFT ‘POWER PLUS’ GOLF PACKAGE
    $ 99.99 (reg. $ 349.99)
Includes 3 oversized titanium matrix metal woods featuring a graphite-shafted 400 cc driver, 7 deep cavity, perimeter weighted irons with speed synchronized steel shafts, and lightweight bag stand

    DUNLOP ‘REACTION’ GOLF PACKAGE
    $ 149.99 (reg. $ 299.99)
    • 450cc titanium-enhanced driver
    • 1, 3 & 5 graphite-shafted woods
    • 4-pw cavity-backed perimeter-weighted steel-shafted irons
    • combination 3/4 hybrid club with steel shaft
    • blade-style putter
    • stand bag

You should be able to find some very reasonable deals on ebay.Aso,try rock bottom golf’s website…
    Answered by unknownuser
Most likely your son will get laughed at if his peers are into golf.
my driver alone cost more than both of those packages combined.
putter will last a lifetime, so invest in that…
for the clubs, i would buy them used on ebay. Good deals on golf clubs!
    Answered by Jacqueline T
I would choose the one with hybrid clubs because long irons (#3-4) are very difficult to hit especially for younger golfers. A true titanium driver is much more expensive (and superior) than other forged Ti alloy.

I am sure you can have plenty of choices for a complete set less than $ 150 at some web stores.

    Answered by MydKnyt
As a beginner myself I would go with the Dunlop set, complete package with a more forgiving driver, low price for a beginner just in case you son ends up not playing long. There’s no point on spending more that $ 175 for a beginner’s set since if he quits then you can re-sell to another beginner for maybe $ 75, but if you buy an expensive set and he quits then you’re out a lot of cash and will need to find a buyer willing to pay a premium price for the expensive set.
    Answered by wbaker777
It depends on how peer sensitive your son is. If Peer pressure is high on his priority list…..I’d look into a name brand set ( used ) on Ebay. or check with your local Pro Shop. I would not spend over 300.00 to 400.00 until he decides if he is going to stick with the game for more than 1 season or so. Otherwise I’d go for the Dunlop. Its at least a name brand that may have a warranty of sort, in case there is a factory defect.
    Question
In my bag at the moment I have:
Dunlop Tour graphite 460cc oversize titanium driver
    Max System steel 3 wood
Dunlop Tour graphite 18 degree hybrid
    Dunlop tour steel 3 iron
    Dunlop tour steel 5 iron
    Dunlop tour steel 7 iron
    Dunlop tour steel 9 iron
    Dunlop tour steel Pitching Wedge
    Dunlop tour steel Sand Wedge
    Yonex 60 degree Lob Wedge
    Dunlop Max putter

I know it’s not a good set of clubs but I have only just started playing, and would not benefit from spending a lot on clubs that I would hit exactly the same.

Do I need to complete my iron set by buying the even numbers too or is my set okay as it is?

    thanks in advance :)

get a whole new set of irons that acctually includes an 8 6 and 4
    Answered by todd
clubs do make a difference look at mastergrip.com the best clubs ive ever owned by far! and the whole set costs less than a ping driver
    Answered by Mark
I only had 3-wood, 5-7-9 iron, pw and putter when I first started.
More clubs help on par 3′s, but not by much.
I like the sound of less clubs. It simplifies the game.
    Answered by Jonathan Basile
definitely fill in the gaps with your irons if you want to get better. It will help with hitting accurate distances with shots to the greens, therefore giving you shorter putts.
    Question
I have been gettin into golf lately and my game is okay for a beginner, at least I have been told. I went to an Academy sporting goods and have started buying clubs. I have a 460cc Golden Bear driver, and I wanted to get some fairway woods and some hybrid irons.

I picked some Dunlop DDH XCEL clubs (3W, 5W, 3hybrid, and 4hybrid). Im just wondering if anyone has heard of these. I tried going to Dunlop’s website but it has been down for weeks now.
    why are they junk?

    Answered by jaydubya420
Ive heard of Dunlop but never those specific clubs,

I have heard good things about the Golden Bear driver

    Answered by James N
I have hit the clubs at a demo day and i was not a big fan of them but if you like hitting them that is all that matters
    Answered by x-15a2
Junk. Try a site like www.rockbottomgolf.com , they have great stuff at the same price that you are looking at.

With the Big Boys (the Nikes, Clevelands, Titleists, etc.) you’re paying mostly to cover their advertisement spaces and sponsorship deals. Nearly every manufacturer has their heads made in the same 10 or so foundries in China and Taiwan, from the same metals. It’s just like any other manufacturing process: car/truck parts (which is what I do for a living), sunglasses, home appliance parts, etc.

Do yourself a favor and see a custom club fitter/builder. S/He can get you fitted and into a set of QUALITY clubs (from driver all the way to the putter) for a little more than what you’d spend on a brand new driver. Take the money you’ll save and spend it on lessons and greens fees.

Go to 2nd swing golf or Golf Smith or Golf Galaxy they have top brand used sets for that price and in great shape

    3. tcmae says:

Well try to get a 4, 6, and 8 irons. It is especially easy to buy and find 6 irons because in golf pro shops, they usually sell a bag of used 6 irons. Also try to buy a 5 wood probably.

    4. kegger says:

Well by playing with less clubs you will build feel and touch FYI my best 9 holes came by playing with a 7 iron and putter on a full size course shot a 40 so its up to you but nothing says you have carry 14 clubs

    5. knh959 says:

What you have is fine for now. Don’t spend a bunch of money on extra clubs until you’re more comfortable playing. You may decide that you want a whole new set.

    6. Sean K says:

You know why we’re allowed to have 14 clubs, because if there wasn’t a limit we’d carry one for every shot. It’s a hard enough game already so you may as well have as many tools as possible. I would add three more clubs, but I would add whatever you think will help you. I’ve carried 2 putters, 5 wedges, 2 drivers and other combinations based on whatever crisis my game was going through that day. Its you against the golf course and your only help is your 14 clubs (take advantage).

    7. WV MAN says:

When I started playing I had a 5,7,and 9iron that were right handed and an 8 iron that was left handed. When I broke 90 for the first time I bought a stagger set. When I broke 80 I purchased the even numbers. When I finally broke par I bought a complete set on name brand clubs. The clubs make very little difference. Unless you have really grooved your swing don’t worry about what your bag looks like. Just have fun. I once played a company tournament with a rented 8 wood, a 7 iron and a putter. I won. But I must include that the other players were terrible. I had a lot of fun. There is always time to spend money. Have fun and see how good you can get 1st.
