At 270-grams, the XL270 is lighter than nearly every driver in the market, meaning it is built ultrafast for maximum clubhead speed. But even though this club is light, the 270 feels like a standard driver in your hands, and the 460cc clubhead is still traditionally weighted for forgiveness. This balanced reduction of weight results in effortless distance with ample forgiveness.

Question
HI, I have recently been looking to purchase a new driver. Right now, I have the cleveland hiBore Xl. I used to slice it all of the time, but now I am hitting it long and straight. I was wondering which would be better to improve to: Cleveland HiBore XLS, Callaway Ft-9, Callaway ft-IQ, or the nike sq dymo. Plus, which one is better between the two: the Callaway ft-9 or the ft-iq? Thanks a lot!

it’s not the arrow, it’s the indian.

I have had succes with my Flyrite clubs
Answered by Kev
It’s the swing, not the club. Try them all out, and buy the one that feels the best. I’ve learned its not the club, the person hitting it. I would suggest the Cleveland club though. Make choice based on what one feels the best.
Answered by Dooley Duffer
First, not to insult you, but there is not much room for improvement from “long and straight”. Multiple millions of amateur golfers would love to hit it long and straight.

Now about your question; which driver from your list is the best? I have a couple of friends that play the HiBore XLS. Works well for them most times.

I have a clone of the Callaway Ft-IQ (square face) that I used for a year. I liked it a lot. Have not used the others…so no comment on them.

Go with a king cobra driver or taylormade 2 of the best drivers in golf.
Question
i am looking to upgrade to better clubs,it is between the Cleveland HiBore XLS driver, woods, and irons or the Callaway Big Bertha Diablo driver, woods, and irons. it is altogether $ 100 more for the Callaways than the Clevelands. the Clevelands are newer but i have heard the Callaways work just as well as the Clevelands. i am an average golfer and play quite a bit and have a hard time getting my drives to go straight. any advice is helpful, thanks.
Answered by Orangeblood
I like and play Cleveland irons but I’d never play Cleveland woods. I prefer Taylor Made so I carry a Taylor Made driver and 3 wood. I don’t know many people who’s clubs are all from the same manufacturer. I’ve got Cleveland irons (SW-2I), Taylor Made woods, Titleist lob wedge and Ping putter. I can’t help you with Callaway.
Answered by green_lantern66
Go to a store that will allow you to hit each (hopefully with a launch monitor as well) and see for yourself. Price isn’t everything, and yes, each brand is high quality.

The Hibore XLS is at the legal limit (5,900 g x cm2) for Moment of Inertia (MOI), which is the measurement used for forgiveness. The Diablo is engineered with a funky (but very interesting) shape, to combat the “s word”. I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Don’t limit yourself to just one brand. You may find out that a Cleveland wood set and Callaway irons are a good combo. or the other way around. If you test them all and don’t see differences, just go with the cheaper set. You’ll still get high quality, and any money you save can go to greens fees!

Answered by BogeyFreeGolf
Just my opinion: I don’t care much for Cleveland; tried them, don’t like’em. I use Ping myself(irons), Callaway steel head fairway woods, and a TaylorMade R7-try each one out, see what fits you.
Keep your drive straight? Hook or slice? Try slowing your swing down on the way back; explode thru the ball at impact. Always take a deep breath before you swing to relieve tension.
Answered by Jobster
Realistically only you can answer this question. See if you can get your hands on a trial set of each and have a go. You are always going to find people that like/dislike both sets. Personally i have a set of Cobra oversize (they don’t even make the model anymore) and i love them. However i know people who have had a go with them and don’t like them.

Find a set that you feel comfortable with. Make sure that you are getting good contract with the ball on all your shots. If you still like the feel of the club head through the ball on one set over the other then you have your answer.

Hope this helps/you are able to get a demo set.

It depends on the golfer. But in my personal opinion, when you buy Callaway, you are paying about $ 200 for the Callaway name on their clubs.
Question
Im left handed just started golf this season. I paid to get on a launch monitor last week and my swing speed is ave 112 MPH tops at 119mph out of the 15 swings. My spin rate is 3800-3900 and my loft is 17-19. They told me to look for a Driver shaft with a high kick point to bring the ball flight down and that the degree of the club face doesn’t matter? I was using a stiff 06 burner 9.5. Shaft was 65grams. Im looking at getting a new driver and a couple are on my list for cost and reviews. The Callaway 9* Diablo driver I can get new for 139.99 stiff flex. Or the Cleveland Monster XLS Driver 9.5* Stiff i can get like new for 110.00. Any suggestions?? Thanks
Answered by barry w
If you can find it….try the Ping G-10. The newer G-15 will run you $ 299.00, but you can have it fitted.
Answered by Ryan
get the cleveland monster i have it and it is very forgiving and gives you great distance.
Answered by Gimmy
Try the Taylor Made Burner Superfast Driver, it’s very forgiving, you know forgiving is the most important feature of taylormade drivers. About the details, you may see it as follows:

Hope this may help you.

the cleveland monster XLS.. it’s cheaper and the best! :)
Answered by retired pro
If there was such a thing, then everybody would be using it.
And thus the only way to find out which, or what, works best for you – since you and your swing is the only one that matters – is to try them yourself and make a decision based on your own results.

Or, if all else fails, consult a certified clubfitter and allow them to give you some advice – again, based on you and your swing and fitting parameters.

Question
I have a Cleveland Hibore XL 10.5 degree and I love it but I am looking for a replacement soon…
Answered by KEEPER
All most all of the brand new popular drivers start at $ 299.00 and up. But you can get good top of the line, last year close outs for $ 200.00 or less on EBay. What is the best one for you? Only you can answer that question!

everyone I know love that new taylormade burner

I’m youger so I use a womens driver but the TaylorMade Womens r7 460 Draw Ti Driver is a really good driver.
Answered by rbkgolfshop
Whoa…. you are looking a pile of gold at ebay for under $ 200 USD. For example, Nike Sumo SQ cost around $ 150. TM Burner cost around $ 180. Cobra M Speed around $ 170. So the best money can buy at ebay is a real deal….

Well, you asked twice, so I’ll answer twice.

God only knows why you want to change a club that’s already perfforming so well, but if you think about it, the HiBore XLS should be the first one to try; you already know you play well with the earlier HiBore so in theory the XLS – as it is an improvement on the older model – ought to be the natural progession.

BUT, if you are going to go and replace a perfectly good driver, you MUST get the new one fitted to you by a professional, otherwise you might not get any improvement, and might even see your performance slip.

You should get the Cobra ZL or a good Taylormade one.
