Cleveland Launcher DST Driver (Men's Right-Handed, 10.5 Degree Loft, Diamana Red 44 Ultralite Graphite Regular Shaft)

  • Sub 300 gram Ultralite Technology. The overall clubweight of the Launcher DST is 25 grams lighter than standard drivers. Lighter weight produces faster club head speed for greater overall distance (3-10 yards).
  • MaxCOR Face Technology. Variable face thickness allows for higher C.O.R. on off-center impacts. Mis-hits benefit from a higher trampoline effect for more ballspeed and distance.
  • Mitsubishi Diamana Red 44 Shaft. Longer shaft length (45.75″) and lighter weight (44 grams) allow increased swing speed. Translates into higher ball speed and longer drives.
  • Traditional club head – look, sound & feel. Square face and neutral weighting. Pear shaped 460cc club head has a solid, responsive feel and sound.

Question
I am a lefty. I either want a Taylormade r7 superquad, Taylormade burner, ping g10 or cleveland hibore
xls. Which driver would be best for me? Thanks
Answered by emtp_tom
Try growing first. Short people suck at golf.
Answered by ovationlj
All the ones you listed are good, solid drivers.

What is more important is that you get the correct shaft flex and if possible, you get a shortened length. At 5’4 the standard length is a little too tall for you, which is going to result in not hitting the ball in the sweet spot.

Personally I’d rate them this way:
1. Ping G10
2. Cleveland Hibore
3. Taylormade R7
4. Taylormade Burner

Make sure you get at least a regular flex shaft, if not a senior flex shaft. If you get the correct shaft for your swing speed, you’ll hit it farther, straighter, and have better ball flight. You should be able to get fitted at your local golf course.

Yo empty tom, you ever hear of Ian Woosnam? Hit them and see which one gives you the best ball flight and most confidence.
Answered by Steve & Maria D
I played with a Ping G10 a couple of weeks ago and it felt good.

My normal driver is the Nike Ignite 460cc and it was comparable to that without even hitting it on the range I was able to work it down the middle.

Above user is correct that you need to be fitted for your shafts. Standard length shafts will be to long for you. Usually the pro shop will work in a deal with you if you get the driver and woods they will give you a free fitting and do the work as well.

good luck

well all of these clubs are really good but i prefer the taylormade burner, thats what i use. you will do good with any of these just remember to get the club fitted to your size….i think you might have to cut an inch off. just take it to a golf shop and they will let you know
Question
hey i was interested in buying a new golf driver. im a naturally talented beginner-intermediate golfer who needs a good driver to suit him. I’ve narrowed it down to the callaway big bertha, taylormade burner draw, cleveland golfhiboreXLS draw and the admas golf insight xtd a3os diver but i can’t really decided. i was just wanting your advice and knowledge. i also dont really want to spend much so get back to me soon thanks
Answered by skidrowdan
Have you hit each one? Only you can decide. But buy one used, new is a rip-off.
Answered by donmustard@sbcglobal.net
try some old mcgregs! they work as good as the big money sticks! golf is practice! tiger knows…
Answered by Mike A
Callaway Big Bertha is a good, reasonably priced new driver. Callaway has a GREAT warranty program. Go to your local golf course, have him fit for it by a PGA Professional, and buy the club from the golf course.
Answered by mgagne83
I would recommend the taylormade burner draw. Only get the draw version if you have a fade on your usual shots, but otherwise get the original burner. I have the original burner myself and i love the way it helps me play. I have probly gained at least 30 yards on my tee shots since getting the burner.

Good Luck

Answered by Terdabis H
I recently purchased a taylormade cgb r7max but since you are interested in the Burner i would suggest that. Golf Digest ranked it has one of the best drivers for this year. In fact golf digest prints an equipment issue every year thats tests all the new clubs and balls and gives them a rating. The Burner ranked as gold.
Question
Cobra Speed LD, Callaway Big Bertha, Cleveland HiBore XL, Taylormade Burner, or Ping G5. I can already drive 280-300 yards with my K-Mart specials, so I am looking to add 15-20 yards. Is that feasible with any of these clubs?
Answered by thirsty mind
I bought the Calloway Big Bertha.
Answered by old hippie
Want more distance, change the degree of the club face. Almost all of the clubs you buy at discount store have a 10.5 degree face on them. Go to a 9.5 or 9. However, you should keep in mind that it will be more difficult to hit the ball straight.

Talk to the golf pro where you play and he’ll give you several options to choose from, like club head, shafts, shaft lenght, etc.

I wish there was an easier answer here, but get on a launch monitor or simulator and hit them all. If you don’t like the results, or aren’t sure, go to another store and do it there too. You’re almost sure to gain with a high quality club (all of the ones you mentioned would be considered at least good quality).

I personally prefer Cobra but not the new LD’s. I just don’t like them. Camilo Villegas seems to like them just fine though so, again, go find what works for you. Good luck.

Answered by toughnottobeacynic
No, it’s not. But get a shaft that best fits your swing, re-shaft any of those drivers you mentioned with that shaft and you will hit the ball as far as you can possibly hit it with any of those club heads. It’s all about the shaft pal.
Question
I am hitting with the Cleveland driver now and could get about 230 yards? Can anyone recommend a driver that could hit 250 to 270 yards.

make sure you order a custom shaft

taylor made burner or taylor made tour burner
Answered by derekradac
well if you hit the sweet spot consistently i would go with the ft-i tour lcg. if not go with the regular ft-i (you will hit straighter but loose yardage).
you may also like the taylormade burner or tour burner (not tp that’s different) or the Cleveland hi bore XLS

I personally own the Hybore XL and love it. The burner is also really good (getting the 3w soon)

Height doesn’t matter because any golfstore will order you a custom lenght on the shaft and you can always choke down an inch or two if you need to (or get women’s lenght shafts if all else fails — just stay away from the pink ones, you will get made fun of.)

  2. Simon the master says:

narrow it down to the callaway big bertha and the taylor made more pros use those on the tour than anyother.

  3. paal_maalin says:

I think you should concentrate on getting a girlfriend and stop wanking over golf clubs. Thanks

  4. Phil says:

If you don’t want to spend too much, the Taylormade Burner might be out of your range. Callaway makes quality drivers, I just picked up a used X460 for $ 150 and I’m very happy with it so far. I tested the Hibore as well, but it wasn’t for me.

  5. Spartan Golfer says:

    I have a Callaway FT-5 and I love it.

I used to have a Hibore XL, but i sold it.

I actually like the Hibore more. Raw power, deadly accuracy. And, the #1 selling driver by far this year, everyone loves it.

I just swithced to the FT-5 Tour for more workability.

  6. scratchedcd says:

    burner no doubt

  7. joecon113 says:

You’re not going to add 15-20 yards by simply buying a new driver. This is about your swing. If there was a magic driver out there everyone would have it. You need to work on developing your swing. Change the technique, your back swing, your approach angle, and your body mechanics. All these will have a positive impact on your swing speed which will ultimately increase your shot distance.
