Question
Does anybody have any suggestions. I have demoed them both and i a cant decide
Answered by Bill P
Cleveland clubs have that rubberish vibration and have limited feel. I owned the CG reds (Last year’s tour model). Hated them, went back to my old Titleist then to Mizuno MP 52′s and have improved my game vastly. You can pick a spot and go for it and you can find that spot with the Mizuno irons. Dart throwers.. The 22′s are cheap looking to me and callaway is last in line with CG technology. Good luck, birdies and pars….
Answered by Tim
i definitely suggest the x22 tours, callaway has a name brand you can trust, so does Cleveland and i like their wedges alot but the irons dont pick up the ball as much if you know what i mean, im getting about 150-210 off of my x22 tours (4 iron) so i hope this was helpful
Answered by Michael W
I have owned the Clevelands also and they just don’t have that launch effect that Callaways have. I own the Callaway Fusions and they are the best clubs I have ever hit. I hit my 3 iron 225 granted I am only 19 so I’m limber and strong. I recommend the Callaways and I don’t know if you are set on that because you like those two or because of money, but I think you should look at www.3balls.com there “like new” clubs look brand new! I promise you won’t be disappointed! You will probably share that website with you friends.
definitely the callaways though man.
Question
i want to buy either the cbra SZ or the Cleveland CG gold iron set. any suggestions would be great, thank you.
Answered by phillyballler
Clevland CG gold is good. The Cobra is ok. Callaway x20′s are the best
Answered by chrisguy
NO club is “the best”…

If I were you I would go to a shop and try them out first…

Answered by legalbgl
Have you tested them out? Which do you like better? Which feel more comfortable? Which give you a better visible line? That is the one you should buy,not what some stranger says on the internet.
Answered by TheAceofClubs
They are both ok, but you can save a lot of money with a good quality clone club. Take some time to check the products available at http://www.TheAceofClubs.com
Answered by aaron s
I personally like Cobra better so i would recommend their products (they make quality golf equipment) but you should definitely go to a golf shop and try them both and some others and see which ones work for you.
Question
so i have a choice between these golf clubs :ping g10 iron sets, taylormade r7 or burners, callaway x-20 or x-22, nike slingshots or nike sumo, cobra fp 2, or cleveland cg gold iron set.
Answered by California Golf Freak
well it all depends on how you hit them, but if I had to chose, I would go for the g10s, or the r7 tps
Answered by Leo
1st Choice: Callaway X-22
2nd Choice: Taylor Made R7
3rd Choice: Ping G10

My ranking is based on ease of use based on my personal experience.

Callaway has such a wide sweet spot that it compensates for most mishits – without giving up too much distance. While the same may be said about Cleveland, I find Callaway’s ‘feel’ to be superior. It can be used with ease by golfers of any handicap.

Taylor Made Nike and Cobra would be excellent for novice and scratch players while Ping would probably be best for beginners to novice level.

Personally, I prefer blades but I’ve been playing for more than 30 years now… :)

Answered by drchoimd
personally i will take callaway, but get what you like after hitting some balls. When I bought my callaway, I went to the range and hit all irons including 4 and 5 irons straight and so excited but this only lasted about 30 min. It started to slice and hook, I score about the same using my $ 200 wilson staff irons compared to callaway…
so yes new irons seems to be better but not a whole lots….
Answered by Mark
Hello,

I like the callaway best. But it depends on how you want to hit the ball and your personal situation. I would suggest to try them out in a store.

Answered by dammit_jer
I went to sports authority and used the R7 and Burner Tour in the simulator and only swung the 7 iron as that is my go-to club. I swing 85mph with a 7 iron and with both clubs my avg distance was 178.5 yards. The simulators used at sports authority does not measure trajectory unfortunately but everything is measured. I did not have a single dead center hit on the R7 but I hit almost every single shot within 2 degrees of the flag at 180 yards. The Burner Tour, has a 10 gram heavier shaft and I hit almost everything dead center on the face and hit all of them 5 degrees left of the pin but still 178 yards. The clubs both make great impact but the R7 is more forgiving and a little lighter than the Burner Tour and right now about $ 100 cheaper for the same performance value in my opinion. I like the X-22 as well but am partial to Taylormade. Not to mention, right now, if price has anything to do with your choice, the R7 is last years model and going off the shelves at almost 1/2 prices so worth every penny.

#1- R7
#2- X22
#3- Burner Tour
#4…Rest are all toss up to me.

Question
I am a senior in high school on the varsity golf team. I am looking to upgrade my set and usually shoot in the low 80s.

Cleveland CG7 Irons
Answered by David
Between those two options I would go with the CG7 Irons, but you should probably get the tour spec over the full cavity back to help you work the ball left or right but still have the forgiveness of the cavity back.

Nike’s. Cause I love it. Dont cha?

There’s more to look at than brand name (both are reputable names). You can throw out grooves, as well. Cleveland may promote their “zip” grooves, but everyone before the new groove rule’s implementation had grooves very similar to one another- to the point that it became negligible.

You could play either model sucessfully, provided it’s properly fit to you. What it boils down to is feel and sound. If you can, hit test both. There’s no “best”, it’s about personal preference. If you hit one and it makes a sound that just doesn’t sit well with you (you’ll know it when you experience it), don’t buy that model. Make sure you do the test with your gamer ball, or else you’re just gathering erroneous data.

The most important part is to get properly fit. Regardless which model you choose, if they’re too long (or short) or the lie angle’s are too flat (or upright), or the grip’s are too small (or large), the swing weight’s too head-heavy (or too grip-heavy), or the shaft flex isn’t what you need, you’re never going to get the most out of the sticks- that leads to a loss of confidence in the new gear and (worse yet) buyer’s remorse. You could make compensations with your swing, but why? That’ll just lead to bad habits. Do yourself a favor and get properly fitted.

If I had to choose, I would go with the Victory Reds, but I like Nike products so I’d choose them over any other product. Both clubs are in the same category, so if you want to figure out which one is best for you, Dick’s Sporting Goods has both sets(the one in my town does anyway). You can hit either set and decide for yourself.

There is no “best club”. The thing to do is go out and hit them. Take 4 clubs from each and hit 5 or so balls then switch brands, try to tape the clubs so you don’t see which brand they are either since this may influence you.

I personally don’t like Cleveland wedges, but loved Cobra when I was demoing irons. Had it not been for the great deal I got on my irons.

  2. John A says:

Just to be different then the other answers, I will ask if you are a high handicapper. If you are, then I would recommend the Nike Sumo. They are designed to hit the ball far and high. If you are mid ranged to low, then I would recommend the ping g10, cobra fp2, and callaways.
