Question
Answered by Mellida Adam
do what you like to do. vol.
Answered by Pixie Chick
In my opinion No, not unless you are at least 90% accurate with your 49*. It doesn’t do a whole lot of good to purchase clubs for the short game with 10yd differences if you cannot execute a shot consistently. You can shank or skull or chili dip a shot with all of your wedges, it only takes one to get it close….practice with one, learn feel and consistency, then step it up with the range of lofts. In addition to your 49* you should have at least one other club with additional loft for high walled bunkers…56* or 60* even better if you can manage it…a bit harder, lots of practice will help.
Answered by green_lantern66
I think it’s sad that the AW is now approaching the “modern” PW loft of 47-48*. At any rate, it wouldn’t be too bad. 4* spacing between all wedges except for the AW and GW (3*)… never thought I’d be using terms that are supposed to mean the same thing for different clubs…
I’d still follow Pixie’s advice, as well.
Answered by Albert
It depends on your wedge play. I myself use a PW, 56, and 60 in my set. I am pretty good with wedges and make great use of them.
Answered by ?
49 is a pitching wedge, I have a 48, 52, 60 I don’t have a sand wedge because I have never used one and already have 14 clubs, buy if I could I would add a 56 if I could
Question
I bought the set from dicks sporting goods, I don’t know if they have a policy which they allow you to return the wedge or buy the set without it. It still is in the packaging. Or should I trade it in for another club?
I play with Titleist Vokey wedges, so thats why I dont need the callaway.

Trade it in for something you want or need.

I’d sell it. You’ll get more money than trade-in value.

A complete set of golf clubs can be made up of any combination of clubs so long as the total does not exceed 14. With the various fairway woods up to 9, hybrids which replace long irons and a selection from 4 wedges the combinations are numerous. The present trend is toward hybrids which will diminish as soon as the hype disappears. Each of the named brands mentioned can satisfy your needs. Just pick that set which feels best to you.
Answered by Ml
All the online auction has complete sets, put together. Ping…you can order them…most companies have retail outlets. Callaway, will be happy the put a complete set together.
Typical set Driver-3 wood-5 wood- 3-pw-sand wedge or 2, and a putter. You sound like a beginner, so go with something that replaces the 3 and 4 irons with hybrids.
Drivers…sand wedges….and putters are personal items. Try many…pick the one you feel best with.

You would have to win a complete set of Nike, Callaway, Titleist, or Ping clubs. You could buy them, but they don’t come in a complete set like clubs you would buy at Walmart or Target. You could get a driver, 3 & 5 wood, 3-pw, sand wedge, lob wedge, a putter and a bag from Walmart or Target in one box. You’re not getting any of the manufacturers you mentioned that way. If you have the money, you could buy everything you need at one store in one day. You’re talking in the neighborhood of 2000 bucks(+/-) depending on what you want. I’ve always bought everything separately with the exception of when I bought a complete set from a co-worker which happened to be a Ping driver, 3 and 5 wood, Mizuno irons, Mizuno sand wedge, Cleveland lob wedge, and a Titleist putter. It wasn’t brand new either, but in good conditon.
Question
I am starting to put together a complete golf club set. The first club I purchased was a 56 degree Titleist Vokey sand wedge. After that I purchased a set of Callaway X-18R irons which came with a 56 degree sand wedge. I was planning on trading in one of the sand wedges for a lob or attack wedge at a used golf store, but I don’t know which one to get rid of.
Answered by derekradac
vokey’s are the top of the line wedge X-18 aren’t you decide
Answered by Liberty
If you like them both then keep ‘em. What you’ll get for trade-in will be a joke. Put whichever one feels best in your bag (or both, but don’t exceed the 14 club limit!)
If what you’re asking is which club should you build a set around, the answer can be neither. Many golfers carry a sand wedge that does not “match” the rest of their clubs.
But if you don’t have good sand technique which club you use won’t matter. “The Sand Shot requires more confidence that any other shot in golf, and can be the most intimidating. You must use a reasonably full swing to propel your golf ball a relatively short distance – all the while making sure to MISS the ball. Is it any wonder that the tendency to decelerate on impact is only rivaled by the desperate urge to help the golf ball up and out of the sand with the club and/or your entire body?” For a great sand strategy check out this link.

It would make more sense to drop the 52* gap wedge and go to a 54* and 58* set up. This will give you the option of carrying another long iron or hybrid.
List it on EBay – Where by the way, you should have bought your clubs in the first place, unless of course you like paying FULL RETAIL

You can buy all your golf clubs in one store but not from one brand.
My suggestion are TaylorMade r9 460 drivers, Callaway big bertha fairway woods, Titleist scotty putters, PING G15 Irons. You can find everything you need on http://www.clubgolfsale.com and get a big discount with free shipping worldwide.
