Question
I’m a 24 / f and I’ve had the same hair style since i was 13 because my hair just won’t curl or hold a style. I recently bought a large curling iron to make another attempt at curling/styling it after years of having given up. Well, my attempts failed. After nearly frying my hair with the curling iron, the curl just falls nearly flat, with only the end of it barely curled. I assure you, the iron was hot enough, it was on the highest setting and i allowed it to sit for about 20 minutes before i used it. i tried different sections different directions different proportions, the curl just. wont. stay.

i have mid back-length hair, parted down the middle like a hippie. I’m ready for a new ‘do! what can i do?

Also, anything but going to the salon, the salon charges WAY too much because my hair is long. Thanks

Answered by Snickers090196
Ok so what you do is make sure you wash your hair really clean with shampoo only and when you get out dont put any products in your hair just leave it because it wont curl with products and then put a little bit of shampoo on your fingers and rub it in a small section of the dry hair then curl it and hairspray.. if that doesnt work then i dont know what you should do

help me?

have you tried hot rollers? they take a while to get used to using them and get a hang of how to use them but it gives me the tightest curls that last all day. also what helps if your going to curl your hair is to use a smaller barrel, maybe about a 1″ barrel or so start curling about 4″ away from your roots and clamp the iron on there, then slowly press the handle while twisting the barrel this creates a great curl because your ends need the least amount of heat. and your mid shaft needs the most. then after you release the curl take a clip, either a sectioning clip or a double pronged clip and roll the curl back up right away while its still hot and clip it very close to your scalp. this will alow the curl to cool in the correct shape and make it less likely to fall out. after they have cooled completely i take them out, first the bottom few and spray with hair spray, if i want them more loose i smooth them out a bit and then i give them a good spray, then i move to the next section of curls above that and to the same. i usually leave my top section out secureing it up with clips and curl it at the very end beacause i like those curls to be more loose, but you can always play with this technique and see what works best for you, good luck hope this helps!
Question
Q1). Do you willingly join the armed forces subconsciously believing that the menfolk will protect you ?

Q 2).When one of your fellow ladies dies along with her male counterparts in war, do you feel betrayed and enraged secretly that men, being men, should have put her safety first ?

I personally believe that woman was not made to fight a war. She was made to be a wife, mother, President, CEO, electrician, plumber, pilot, Prime Minister, Secretary of State, general handyman, doctor, lawyer, engineer, and pretty much anything she set her mind on becoming, except being in an explicit combat role.

Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher herself said that women were better suited to wielding the handbag than wielding the gun, and she is one of my role models. And I believe she couldn’t have said it better, given her exemplary life.

Please be assured that this is not a bait question. All opinions will be respected.

Thank you very much for your answers. There are a lot of points that I have always wanted to make regarding this question, but I won’t as this might be misconstrued as being a bait question.

Women should be able to be in combat roles. In many countries across the world they’re required to. Peronsally I think it’s outdated our ideas on this issue here in America. If a man can die for this country why not a woman?

Also I can deadshoot better than alot of men can, they’d feel better next to me on the battlefield than I would next to them lol.

I agree with you. I don’t think women should be in combat or police. There are some exceptions, but men are just stronger in ways suited for that.

First off Wars today aren’t like they used to be. Your hometown could be a warzone. As a twice deployed soldier I feel I am just as qualified to fight in the war as any man out there. Because it’s not just about “front lines” now and days. I am proud to say I have seen combat and survived.

I am currently working on getting into the Navy. I am not joining to have the men protect me. The men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces are already doing that as I write this. I look at it as being on honor to serve my country, and protect my fellow Americans. I am not one who is fresh out of high school, and don’t know what I am going to do with my life. I am a thirty year old female who has had the fire to serve within her from a young age. The military is for some as it isn’t for others.

To look at a woman and state that she should be a wife, a mother, a doctor, etc but not a fighter is your way of expressing that a man is greater than a woman. You must not be so judgemental. You need to take the time to look at each and every person as being an equal, then you will be able to see why women want to serve their country.

Question
I’m fifteen and in the last couple months have gotten more into hair and make up. My hair is light brown, mostly straight, a little past my shoulders, and combination (roots little greasy, tips little dry, but nothing major). I use a curling iron about once a week, and a blow-dryer (on the cool setting) about two to three times a week on average. I want to make sure my hair is protected!
Right now, I own this shampoo and conditioner:

http://www.aussie.com/us/collections/cleanse_and_mend/

I want to get another (and I will alternate products, so use one twice a week and the other twice a week or something like that).
Which of the following products should I get to keep it healthy/protected?
shampoo and conditioner– http://www.aussie.com/us/collections/hair_insurance/
shampoo and conditioner– http://www.aussie.com/us/collections/opposites_attract/
deep conditioner– http://www.aussie.com/us/collections/moist/three_minute_deep.jsp
PLEASE TELL ME WHICH OF THE ABOVE PRODUCTS I SHOULD GET! THANK YOU! I’LL CHOOSE BEST ANSWER :)

Answered by Anarchaholic ♥
The first shampoo and conditioner are pretty good and you can also get the deep conditioner and use it once a week or a few times a month along with the shampoo and conditioner.

Believe me, your hair is not that damaged, so relax a little. :)

Hi, i havnt looked at the links, but i wouldnt bother alternating, if doesnt do much more. if you are worryed about product buildup from shampoo etc then once a week rinse your hair with a cup of apple cider vinegar before shampooing and conditioing as usual. it gets rid of product biuld up and you get left with hair thats like you have just bought a new shampoo. Also for your greesy roots and dry tips, condition the length of you hair only FIRST, then wait how ever long you usually leave it in, the shampoo the ROOTS of your hair and then rinse it all out. this way the roots get washed but the ends which dont need it get conditioned. great if you are washing you hair everyday, do that every second. hope this help[s!!
Answered by Tabitha.
yeah your hair isnt damaged. i blowdry my hair everyday and straighten it every day. but if you want i would go with the second shampoo and conditioner. i use the same kind of things.
Question
I recently purchased a new set of clubs that included a Hybrid 3 & 4. I am curious as to the purpose/use of them. I bought this set because it had 2 hybrids and the sales guy said it would be better than using a 3 or 4 iron and I am not really good with my irons so I thought it would help.
I don’t seem to get any more distance out of them than my 8 or 9 iron (about 50-75yard). My 3 wood goes about 100- 125 yards. This is my second year playing, I go out about once a week and to the driving range a couple of times a month.
Please help
Answered by fiveltr5spd
They are much easier to hit then a 3 or 4 iron would be they won’t necessarily go longer than a 3 or 4 iron but they should go much longer than your 8 or 9 iron. They are much lower in loft than an 8 or 9 iron and should fly lower and farther with more roll.

If you are not hitting those clubs any longer than your short irons then there is a problem with your swing and you arn’t generating the swing speeds that you need to use those clubs.

I would highly recomend some lessons to get your swing right and to generate a higher swing speed to be able to properly utilize all the clubs in your bag. Lessons will do more than any new set of clubs can for your game.

Ladies Hybrids are the latest fad in club merchandising and apparently have convinced many that the magic wand is here. A couple of years ago, the ” Rescue ” club was introduced and a few replaced the long iron with it. However, the magic wand had made a big impact in merchandising but little in the way of improving handicaps.
Answered by freckleface
they are a lot easier to hit. once you get better you will really love them because they are very forgiving and good to use out of the rough

You are better off donating them to a junior club some kids don’t have the money to afford clubs.
Answered by Smitty
Go to “PGA.com”, and look for their link to used club values.

But, at face value, I’d think the set you listed above to be worth $ 10–$ 15.
Because of the irons.
The Driver, putter, & bag you listed are (practically) worthless.

Answered by Johnny W
check out the pga.com club value guide. although i would say that that set is worth very little, id say about 25 bucks.
Answered by John Green
Personally I think you can sell it for around 400-500 bucks on ebay.

I am in the Army and I will tell you there are many opinions and they all clash. I personally don’t think women should be in direct combat as is the rule now. That is for so many reasons, not that we can’t hang. The most important thing I see is if we were captured by the enemy there is allot more that can be done to us than to a male. I believe the restrictions as well as the opportunities we have as females are given in the US Army are well suited for our world today.

  2. Eric C says:

    Women in the military.

No I am going to try not to flame you on this one as it is a good subject however is just like abortion, religion and politics.

I have served under female and male officers as an enlisted, have worked for and worked under several female soldiers, both higher rank and lower rank for the working under part of it, as well as a couple of officers along the way.

Women dont believe that men will protect them although a very small percent do. They actually believe that they can do the job and for the most part they do it well.

When one of my fellow female soldiers died in combat last year by a roadside bomb, we never questioned if we could have protected her or becuase she was a woman this should have happenned.

Women are better suited wielding a handbag and a concealed weapon in todays society where old women get beaten in subways by younger men and their purses taken, and women are victims all the time, however do not get too feminist into saying that a woman would make the best president, or that they are made to be plumbers, pilots, and stuff like that.

Fact of the matter is, women in the military do just as good a job as men do, and sometimes they do it better. They are not just used as fluffers, or secretaries anymore, they are on guntrucks riding convoy duty, foot patrols through baghdad, or even in military police cars and artillary. As we move to gurilla warfare in todays society it gets harder and harder not to keep them on the front lines, becuase there are no front lines.

Now these so called Feminists and people that enable women to have more power than men do with all of their regulations, rules and policies are enabling women in the military to get away with ruining other soldiers careers based upon accusations alone, and are also preventing women to stand up and work at being on a real level playing field.

  3. sj_akh says:

I’m in ROTC. One of my instructors is a female Major and a combat engineer. She was deployed to Iraq and her hummer was hit by an IED and ambushed. The convoy she was with sped away as is protocol. She was left in a burning hummer with 2 dead men and an unconscious SGT all while taking fire. She, alone, dragged the 3 men out of the hummer, saved the SGT’s life and had to return fire at her ambushers and wait for the convoy to turn around to come and get her. She got a bronze star for all that.

I had my doubts about women in the military, but after hearing her story I have a new found respect for women in the military. I would no doubt trust her with my life and would not fuck with her. Try telling her that women do not belong in the military.

  4. seachelle38 says:

I am a Veteran from many years ago. I was a soldier first and a lady always. I never wanted a man to protect me I only wanted a fellow soldier to have my back when I needed it. That is not to say that there are not women who do fall into that catagory. I just hope that those types are few and far between. We sign the same contract, we should do the same job. I think that women bring a balance to the armed forces. You are entitled to your opinion, I would encourage you to do some research and talk to some women in the military. It may not change your opinion, but it could change your level of understanding why we know we belong in the armed forces.

  5. cordeliabrainiac says:

I hate to break it to Melissa but the M-16 is an equal opportunity employer. I pity the fool…..

    1) I’ve never expected any man to protect me. That would be silly. What if there wasn’t one around when I needed one? Then what?

    2) I do not feel betrayed by men when a female service members are killed or injured.

What is up with this whole “lady” thing? You say men but not gentlemen? Do you not expect men to be gentlemen? Please explain this discrepancy.

  6. Alexis says:

same with me! maybe the deep conditioner would be the best

  7. Madalyn S says:

if you air dry it’s healther

i think keep the stuff you have now and add the deep-conditioner

make sure your curling iron doesn’t have that stuff on it(from hairspray when it’s hot) because that wreaks your hair

make sure you get your hair cut often so you don’t get split ends!

    hope i help

  8. green_lantern66 says:

Not much- even for big names. Golf clubs have a HUGE turnover rate (didn’t used to be that way), which devalues the generations before that. So unless you bought those clubs from someone famous, you may not be looking at a big sale.

That said, you may get lucky and have someone that collects certain brands. If something you have fills another’s need, you never know what you could get.

  9. warmtoast says:

To be honest, they aren’t worth anything. There’s just no demand for them. The market is flooded with old cheap clubs. The only clubs that are worth anything are old are ping eye 2′s because a lot of people still want them. You would probably get like $ 15 or so at a garage sale if you’re lucky. If you donate them to like a local girl’s club or YMCA, you can get a receipt for a donation that makes it tax deductible. It’s your best chance to get a little money back and also help out some kids at the same time. That would be my suggestion. Good luck.
