Question
I’m curious which is better, forgiveness, sound, features of the club, and distance. Anything you think would help me decide.
Answered by ?
The cobra is definatly better, the callaway iz has a triangle shaped head and is very easy to hit a snap hook
Answered by Sarah
I like Cobras better than Callaway’s personally but it depends on the person, usually though Cobras have more forgiveness which is a big thing for mid to high handicaps.
Question
i have been looking at new callaway and taylormade drivers on ebay
i was wondering what types of these drivers would be best to buy. I want a really big one with a really good swing. tell me some good types of callaway and taylormade
Answered by Golf King
the Taylor Made r7 460, TM superquad, TM burner, TM burner draw

now onto the callaway’s

FTI, FT5, FT3, great big bertha, X460

thats about it

Answered by Matt
if you want a callaway go with the ft-5 or if your have a higher handicap go with the Hyper X…its a great club. For Taylormade go with the r7 SuperQuad or the Burner..Im a fan of the Cobra Drivers…you should take a look…i went from 220 with a Nike to 270 with the Cobra x speed
Answered by kushykushywithalittlewhitewidow
meh callaway i dont suggest at all, maybe some of the taylormade drivers. I would suggest a taylormade, either the tourburner or the R7 cgb.
Answered by Richard R
Hitting the Hyper X right now like it the First Callaway that I have liked in 4 to 5 years

That’s a toughy. you might want to go to one of the big stores to test some out. What might be “good” for me, may not be “good” for you. Many factors involved like flex.
Callaway just come out with new http://www.globalgolf.com/promos/callaway-i-mix.aspx Callaway I-MIX Golf Clubs that has interchangable shafts. Not ure if you would be interested in that at all?

They are very good drivers except for that they make a very loud and annoying noise when hit.

A downside is that if you buy the ones that are configured to draw or fade the ball to make you hit it straight, if you improve your swing to make your ball go naturally straight, you can’t get rid of the draw or fade.

Go to: http://www.golfsmith.com/browse.php?PHPSESSID=f34c1098f163626b78cc57f004a5fa78&lcode=expps&N=0&Ntt=callaway+ft3&Nty=1&Ntx=mode+matchall&Ntk=All

It has a list of the different Ft-3′s (Tour, nor Tour, fade, draw, regular). You can click on one and than click on reviews to see revies that people have wrote about the drivers.

If you’re going to spend $ 400 on a driver, you should get an r7 Quad 425 or an r7 460. They are better looking, more explosive and you can chnge the weights. Unless you already hit straight and are going for an Ft-3 with a neutral configuration, then get an r7. If you make your swing better, you can just change the weights. Or if your swing gets messed up, you can just adjust the weights again.

Go to: http://www.golfsmith.com/browse.php?Ntt=taylormade+r7&Ne=2&Ntx=mode+matchall&sid=f2c41fb590258a5a7afa16d3b5275de6&N=280706&lcode=expps&Ntk=All&n

It shows the different r7′s. Click on the one you like, then click on reviews to read reveiws that people have written for the clubs.

your better off with a Taylor made R7/R5 or Nike Sasquatch in my opinion. The FT3 is alittle overrated in the golf community.
Answered by 3GOLDS
I have a Callaway Ft3 driver….great driver, I love it!! However it does sound like a wooden hammer…..
I just bought the new Callaway 460, I like that one too!!
Answered by Doug
You should make sure you hit one first, and try different shafts to make sure you get the one that works best for you

I truly just think it is a gimmick , the technology has not changed all they did was increase the size and shape , but the same technology , I have tried them both extensively and I outdrive them easily with my Titleist 905T 400cc size head from 2005, which by the way is the same technology just smaller head , don’t fall for the hype they want you to think you can buy a better game , the only thing that makes your game better is practice and consistency.
Answered by Mika Gionta
Yes they are…..if you’re good. If you’re average, then it’s not going to matter. Really: if you pump a drive out 20 more yards, is it really going to make that much of a difference in your game? No. Everyone always looks at the long ball to give him or her game. From now until the end of golfing time, money will be won or lost with the wedges and the putter. There is no argument.
Answered by x-15a2
Well, better than what?

These clubs tend to be straighter and more forgiving but are not quite as long as “traditional” drivers. Callaway has two different models models, the FTi and FTi Tour, the tour being a bit longer and a bit less forgiving

Are they better for you? If you hit straight and don’t have a problem with slicing or hooking, these clubs may not be better for you. If you have one of these problems, these clubs may help, to a degree. The only way to know for sure is to go to your local golf store and give them a try.
