Question
I have looked and looked and there are so many choices! I want one that will last longer than a few months, and the baby can grow into it. Any ideas?
Answered by Amanda S
Check at target, that’s my favorite place and where I am getting my swing..
Answered by ulikey21
All the swings I know of only go to 25lbs….

My favorites are the Fisher Price swings. I have the Ocean Wonders one, but they have many other patterns

I like them because they swing side to side, and front to back…

My 4 month old still uses his swing constantly. He’s nearly 18lbs and getting big for it! ~

Answered by may08mommy
get one that will convert from a baby swing to a toddler swing, it will save you money in the end
Answered by alexias mommy
The rainforest one is nice because it swings in 3 positions, has a mobile and plugs into the wall ( no batteries to change! ) also it has like 5 speeds, a lot of different music/sounds and volume control…also has a little tray with a dip for putting a snack in when baby is older.
Answered by MamaOfTwinGirls
I had a couple of Ocean Wonders Aquarium Swings for my twins and those lasted until they were 7 or 8 months old. They’re good up to 25 lbs, though, but they just weren’t interested in it anymore.

I would go with the Rainforest Swing by Fisher Price, though. It’s the newer model and it actually has an A/C adaptor so you don’t have to keep using batteries!

Those are wonderful swings because they go front to back and side to side, they have a mobile, and they play music or soothing sounds. They also don’t stop unless you turn it off so if you happen to have a colicky newborn you can certainly put them in that overnight next to your bed, of course.

Question
Does anybody know the name of the fake baby that is given to young girls or young couples to see how they would cope living with a baby. This baby doll is like a real baby – it cries when it wants feeding, when it wants its nappy changing and it also wakes up during the night. Just like a real baby it needs rocking when it cries and if attended to properly it will stop crying. They appearend in the bbc three program – ‘Pregnancy: My big decision’. So if anybody knows what they are called could you please let me know. Thankyou.

baby think it over
had to do that in high school…
Answered by SNicole
It isn’t for people that want a baby.
It is a high school course that anyone can take.

I heard that Baby Think It Over was discontinued. Here’s another though: RealCare Baby.

lol. when i was in school, one of my classes was family management… and they tried to scare us out of having sex by making us carry around fake babies… except the fake babies were just ten pound bags of sugar. hahahha.
Question
I am looking for what could be considered the “best” baby formula. The best meaning the best for the baby including ingredients, recipe, quality, and taste. Also are organic formulas that claim to not contain growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics etc actually worth it. Your opinions are appreciated. Thanks
Answered by ruthiecrue2
Most baby formulas are pretty much the same. The government sets high standards for them. The generic is just as good as the name brand. Some have added stuff like DRA or whatever but you will pay for it in the price. As for taste…..Who tastes it?? Babies can’t tell you how it tastes!
Answered by Heather Y
Everything on the market has to meet FDA standards, even generic has DHA and ARA. I personally think its all pretty much the same stuff, at least it is when you compare nutrition labels. Mostly what you’re paying for with the name brand stuff is all the marketing and “freebies” they give away. Can’t help you with the taste, but some brands do smell better than others (to me Similac w/iron smells the best). Organic was never worth it to me.
Answered by wcampanile
I have six children, I have tried everything! The best formula from my vast experience is made by Similac but it’s soy based ISOMIL with iron. Definitely proven by all my children and my brothers daughter(who had major reflux issues) to eliminate colick. (sp?) It was smooth switch when breastfeeding didn’t work out too. Good Luck
Answered by Loudmouth
The best quality normally comes with the highest price, they all taste like s**t …if you are paying for it on your on , find out what your baby can digest, some babies have more trouble with different brands, and ingredients.. If you go with organic it may be OK ….if the government is paying for it ,I doubt you will get the organic… Of course who knows for a fact organic is all natural ?? Oh yes the manufacturer ,and the FDA says so.
Answered by Sherrie D
When my first was born he was premature and they told me that if I were to put him on formula to use Similac Advance with DHA and ARA that is was the best nutrients for him and digested easily. I would talk with your pediatrician before you decide on any and they can suggest the right formula for your baby.

Boy’s (or girls) names starting with specific letters
Stuff you find in a diaper bag, besides diapers (bottles, wipes, wallet, snacks,dr’s phone #)
Stuff you take to the hospital (nightgown, crosswords, baby’s outfit, toiletries)

What is a nickname for a pacifier?
Paci is probably the number 1 answer, we call ours a dummy , nuk is another popular nickname…

What are names that grandchildren often call their grandparents?
Grandma/Grandpa, NaNa/PaPa, MeeMaw/PawPaw, Granny/Nanny, Pops…

What do you need to have in a diaper bag, besides diapers?
This would be good for the top three…
Wipes, Changing Pad, Bottle

I hope these help, it sounds like a fun idea!

Question
I’ve heard friends say their baby started walking and the babies are all doing differently, either they are cruising, Takes steps with assistance (toy or person), Takes a step or steps without any assistance, or Can take many steps to get from one place to another.

So, which one is it? When do you consider a baby to be walking?

Answered by Tammy Redmen
Taking steps without any help or support. Probaly about 7 or more steps
Answered by amy lynn
I consider a baby to be “walking” at the point when they are spending almost as much time walking as what they spend crawling. They may still be falling every now and then…or may still prefer to walk from furniture to furniture…but they are noticeably spending a lot of their time on their feet and will stand up (even if they do it by pulling up on the furniture) on their own without a parent picking them up to “help” them stand. That is just my opinion and not based on any “professional” advice or information.
Answered by Mummy of 1 x
When they can take steps (at least 5) with out any support. If they need support from either another person or object they are cruising. Once they are able to take a few steps unsupported on a regular basis, it wont be long until they are a confident walker, opting to walk instead of crawl or cruise.
Answered by andy
A baby is walking when he can take multiple steps without any aid. It is just like crawling, just because he can move with assistance doesn’t mean that he is crawling.
I don’t know what the right answer is, but I’ve always thought babies are considered to be walking when they start holding on to people’s hands and taking steps that way. They may have assistance but it’s still walking. My daughter is taking steps around furniture but I don’t really consider that walking because it’s not consistent and she only takes a few at a time.

i have the fisher price papasan cradle swing. We love it. I think it goes to 25 lbs. It swings 2 different directions, has tons of different song choices, lights, a mobile, a plug so you dont have to worry about batteries and its got netting around it and the lights project onto it so there are little butterflies all around her and on the walls, its cute.

I have the Fisher Price Rain Forest one. My son loved it.

  3. RY says:

Like others have been saying the weight limit on most swings is 25 lbs. Even so, a few months use might be all you get anyway. My daughter stopped liking it well before she hit the weight limit. Once they become mobile, many babies want to be exploring rather than confined to the swing.

  4. tonnie_rn says:

i like any that swing in both directions, i bought the fisher price, even after mixed reviews, but a friend had one and liked it, so far mine is great….there are several to choose from, i think babies r us has at least 3 like that, this one, the papasan something, and the papasan 2008; i also was set on getting one that worked on batteries and plugged in as i have read a lot of them are battery suckers….this one can do both….good luck…check out babiesrus website and look at swings to see what i mean if u r not familiar with it….it also has many speeds to choose from and you can recline it for smaller ones and sit it up for others to look around…happy hunting

  5. KDB says:

I think Enfamil is good. Generic brands do have all the same ingredients as name brands but there is a difference. And formula does taste bad. I haven’t really had experience with a lot of different brands but my pediatrician said they were all the same like colgate verses crest.

Organics don’t know. Just wanted to give my two sense about generic and name brand. Generics: the powder is clumpy, they leave a oily residue and they are yellow in color when mixed. Brand name: the powder is very fine and when they are mixed the color is white. No oily residue. I wouldn’t buy generic again….

I consider walking when they can take at least 5 steps without any aid. My daughter was cruising along furniture at 7 months, I did not consider that walking, at 9.5 months she was taking steps without any aid (from holding a chair taking 8 steps to me etc) That is when I considered her walking. Good luck
