Question
Answered by reporter
if you hit down on any wedge it will put backspin on the ball.
Question
It seems every online retailer I look at is sold out of this item, and I’m hard pressed to find one in a brick-and-mortar retailer. I read somewhere that this set was the 2008 series, so I am wondering if this is true, and if so, have they discontinued it. Thanks in advance!
All I really want to know is whether or not this item is still being manufactured by Adams.

I’ve got a MINT set of Adams Watson Wedges that I’ll sell you for $ 75 shipped, they are not the PVD, they have the chrome finish. I’ve only used these at the range, they have never actually seen a round of play. I’m going to be listing them on eBay in the next day or two.

Golf clubs for around 0? looking at 2009 slazenger amp, adams 2008 tight lies, and your suggestions?
Question
I am getting back into golf. My set is not very good and I am looking to get a set of clubs for about $ 300. Dicks had the Slazenger 09 AMP set without bag, putter, and sand-wedge for 249 plus a 10% discount for being a floor model. I then bought a Maxfli bag for $ 60. They also have a new set of Adams golf Tight Lies that are the 08 version for $ 350, but I can get them elsewhere for $ 320. This includes bag, putter, wood covers and a sand-wedge. So about the same price for both. The Dicks employee told me the Slazengers will have better graphite, but the Adams will have better iron heads. Any other suggestions?

Between the two, Adams is the better set. The store employee is pretty much right on, but the Adams woods aren’t that bad.
Answered by Luke
It is always better to have the best control on the club, but it also depends on how far you can hit it.
Distance: Adams
Control: Slazenger
My Recommendation:Dunlop Maxx, but they’re not always cheap.

I love the Cleveland CG reds, theyre player irons but theyre pretty forgiving. If you like to work it then forget about those irons, they stay pretty much straight. You should also look at Callaway X forged. Those are some sweet irons as well.
Answered by adrizzock
An iron to consider would be the Titleist AP-2′s. The reason i say this iron is because it’ll play like a blade, but give you the forgiveness beneifts of some newer technology. They’re forged whcih will give you more playability then the AP-1′s, which are cast, but they shape and size of the iron give you more forgiveness than a traditional forged club. Many members of the Titleist tour staff (Adam Scott ex) use this iron. Only drawback is they’re quite pricey. Only tricky part is that at your age, you’ll probably continue to grow more, so it may be worth talking this point over with your club fitter, which you definitely need to do as with your skill level, you could certainly benefit from a fitting to help you maximize each & every shot you hit. Good luck!
Question
Adams watson 3 pack wedges for 100 bucks (52/54/60 or 56/58/60) or one cleveland cg14 56degree sw. Dont wanna spend too much on wedges
Answered by Jow
For a starter, wedges might not be the best idea. If you really want wedges, I like anything by Callaway. I don’t like Adams or Cleveland, even for a starter.
But of the two you mentioned, Cleveland.
Answered by USA 79S
you likely won’t have the distance control to maximize 3 wedges. Assuming your PW is 46 or 47 degrees a 56 degree wedge would be useful both in and out of sand. The CG wedges are all nice, be sure to get the correct bounce for the type of sand you’ll be playing in. Your local pro shop can probably make the best recommendation there. You can always add a 52 and 60 later if you feel you grow into the need.
Answered by Botham
SW and PW are all u need for a starter. Too much is said about degrees etc. Practice with the PW from 80 too 8 meters from the green until a confident “feel” is born.
52 degree full blooded shots from 60 meters is a recipe for problems.
Good old 60PW and standard SW for bunkers only (or the risky one over the tree) and worry more about putting and you are off into the most wonderful sport one can play.

Well saingyou are 15 and shoot under par aren’t exactly “great tings” thatcould help someone find a good set. I know a few pros that like regular irons, or maybe even game improvement, just because they feel better then the other brand. Obviously, you are into golf for the long run, so it might be a great idea to spend a Sunday at a loal golf shop, and testing out clubs with the pro. Im sure the coach would understand, if that would be a problem. Get them custom fit, dont ask us. Just because you like the feel of a certain brands wedges, putters, woods, drivers, but that doesnt mean you should get the irons too. If the pro says r7′s, goes with r7′s. if he says victory red, go with those. Remember, they get paid to reconmend clubs, we don’t.
Well first and foremost you always have to like the way the clubs look, and if you have any brand loyalty… looking at you bag I see that is a no. so where do we go from here. Do you like a Half cavity or a straight blade?
Half Cavity’s are easier to come by and will give you the look and feel of the traditional blade’s with a bit of forgivness. My suggestion’s
nike Victory Red half cavity, Clevland CG Gold, Titelest AP-2, Callaway X-Forged, Mizuno MP 62, Ping S57
Traditional blades are the pain in your butt to hit, and in my opinion are now obsolete. why make the game harder than it already is. If you must here are the one’s I would suggest.
Nike TW Victory Red Forged blades, Titleist ZB Irons, Callaway Prototype irons, Cobra Pro MB Forged Blades, Mizuno MP 67.
Just remember that it is the shaft which makes the differance. If you come through with the same swing with any club that has the same loft, you will hit the same shot. you just have to find the club that you have confidence.
good luck
Jordan
Thats some good clubs you have.
wow the first person and third person to answer this question are losers
go to your local proshop and try them all out…. if youve tried blade and you like them than stick with them. brand names and cost mean nothing, if you find a set you like, you hit well and you feel comfortable addressing the ball with, then get those
Well, there are several options: How much money are you willing to spend?
Mizuno MP-67
Nike Victory Red Blades
Nike Forged Blades(older model that doesn’t cost as much as the VR’s)
Mizuno MP-32
