Question
I bought a new Adams A3OS driver and as I was putting a ball on a tee i bent over with the club face on the ground like a cane and the club head broke off. I do it all of the time with my Nike driver and never had any problems. In fact put my whole body weight on the Nike driver trying to break it and couldn’t. I think the Adams had a defective shaft. I wonder if they will replace it of just fix it. I cant find out by looking at their web page

It sucks . good luck on getting it fixed or replaced

You have to contact them at the customer service explain the situation. they will give you a RA # and then you can take it to the place you bought it and send it in for repair or replacement. A similar situation happened to me and they were great about it.

Check with an Adams retailer. They are the ones who can tell you about the warranty.
Question
I’m thinking in the future on purchasing the Adams Idea Senior a3os Irons and Off-set 460 Driver. Can anyone tell me their opinion on this set? I’ve heard that they are easier to hit than regular clubs. And what about the off-set Driver? Does anyone like these drivers. And why are they called Senior clubs?
Thanks,
Tom, MI
Answered by Beth P
Senior probably means a less stiff shaft. I don’t know the level or experience of your game but would advise going to a golf shop for choice and fitting. These retail shops and even Dick’s
sporting goods usually have a knowledgeable semi-pro at least that can help you. Without a good match to your game clubs alone will not help. Tiger’s clubs will not help you play better if they are not a good fit.
Answered by Alasdair W
I’d buy them. They are great. Do you need an offset, do you tend to slice? If you do and you don’t want lessons to fix then get the offset. Being a hybrid set makes them easier to hit than conventional irons. Senior clubs really relate to the shaft flex. Designed for slower swing speeds. You ought to think about being fitted on a launch monitor. Many pros out there can help you with this.
Question
I have a Callaway RCH 96 set of golf clubs from my uncle, but I rarely use them and wouldn’t mind getting rid of them. My brother’s friend offered me about $ 400 for the whole set, but my grandma said it was a ripoff, as they were a couple thousand. I tried googling this answer but I can’t find it anywhere, so I’m asking for your help.

How much would a Callaway RCH 96 set of golf clubs be, without a putter and with an Adams Golf driver, and a Big Bertha golf bag?

Thanks for your time.
About the eBay thing, I looked around and all I can find is a separate driver or iron, not the whole set so I have no clue on even an estimate, but thanks Lizzie! I’ll just wait to see some more advice before I make my decision.

Answered by Lizzie
Defenately a rip off i would say like um 995 not quite a thousand but you know it is like a pre owned car they have been bought and no matter what you say people might think you used them a lot. Not a thousand but around there.
Answered by tenniskneekid
No one wants the putter anyway, bag isn’t a big deal either, just helps to carry them away when someone buys them.

I think you could get $ 600 to $ 700 for the set. Not much more because they are outdated now. Great set when they were purchased but the market and technology is making everything obsolete before the next season starts.

Answered by al s
Callaway buy’s and sells used clubs you might contact them. Keep in mind golf clubs are a lot like mobile homes. They depreciate a lot. His offer may turn out to be good.
Answered by nick
check out ebay probably around $ 700-$ 800
Answered by jjk_2211
this is a decent offer by your friends, but you have to think about it! you got good edition classic golf clubs or you can get the newest high tech irons. I recommend keeping them and pass them on to your grandchildren, they’ll be more valueable

He is pretty much a beginner at golf, but has his own clubs and his current golf driver is about to break. I have researched a few. They are listed below. Which brand is best?

out of those the adams tight lie is the only name brand. But a piece of advice, all those suck and i would be disappointed if i got any of those, sorry. Look depending were you live you can go to any golf store or pro shop ( any golf course), you can research that, and buy a used one there OR DEPENDING ON YOUR BUDGET a new one. Just ask who ever works there. tell them hes a beginner and they will know whats good for him. just in case you don’t follow my advice, you need to know two things. First the shaft flex. since hes a beginner his shaft flex will be regular or stiff. then the cc on the club face. You need to get him something that is 460 cc. Some extra advice is don’t buy him a driver. Let him get that because he knows what he likes more than you do. the best thing you can give a beginning golfer is golf lessons. Do some research were you live and pay 2 or 3 golf lessons for him.
Answered by GBeck
It is best if he goes to a golf store and hits each of the drivers. Not all drivers are the same and as I am sure you found from your research. I thought I wanted a certain set of irons, but found I could hit another set better. Especially, if he is a beginner.
Answered by Grouchy
NO NO NO, just get him a gift certificate from a good golf store, he’ll love you for that I’m sure?
Answered by portagreek20
get him the adams
Answered by green_lantern66
I agree with Rod and Grouchy- those aren’t the highest of quality, except for the Adams, but that one is so old…

If you want quality without a huge spending, maybe try GigaGolf.com or PinemeadowGolf.com. If that is still not financially feasible, go with the gift card- he’ll still love it.

Question
Currently I am hitting a 10* Adams GT tight lies, w/ stiff shaft. I can hit a fairly long ball being 6’2″ and tend to hit a fade / slice, and I hit a very high ball. … I will be getting a new driver this year and I just don’t think these low CG drivers are for me since I already have a high launch. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or similar experiences with these new drivers?
(and yes I will go to Golf town and try a bunch out)
Answered by wbaker777
I’d think that Taylormade tour Burner TP with its lower launch angle may be something you may want to look at…..also look at optional shafts as this may help you with trajectory control.
Answered by green_lantern66
So many drivers nowadays are being made with the center of gravity low and away from the face, it seems that everyone in the industry thinks every golfer hits worm-burners.

Titleist still makes a version of the 907 and 909 (the newer version) Comp that is more along the lines of what you’re looking for. Most “tour” versions of drivers are the same way.

If you’re having trouble finding a driver that is exactly what you want, try picking the head you want and switching out the shaft. There are plenty of low-launching shafts (Aldila NV Green, Grafalloy ProLaunch Red, Mitsubishi Diamana Blue to name some) that can offset the high launch of a head to give you a more desired ball flight.

Answered by max o
it is hard to say which driver will be best for you, but going to less loft and a stiffer shaft will bring down ball flight and give you longer drives. most people don’t realize that high ball flight is a really good thing. If you’ve ever seen pros in person it is amazing how high they can get a driver. One driver for you might be the new cleveland high bore, it is a traditional shaped driver with a not as low center of gravity. Titliest drivers might be another place to look they have several versions with various CG set ups in this years drivers.

If i were to guess, i bet you swing down a little too steep and that is wat is causing your high ball flight, I’m willing to bet if you got a 9* stiff driver and learn to hit it on the up swing (i can already hear the traditionalists arguing against this point) just slightly, you will be very happy with the results of any of the new quality drivers. The other option would be a draw modle of a driver, bringing the ball back to the left will lower the ball flight a little and give you the option to aim more down the center. But it is really hard to say with out seeing your swing.

Finally, the shaft is as important or more important than the head. Make sure you try several options becuase the driver you like may be even better with an upgraded shaft

try out the nike sasquatch square…honestly its an amzing club…just because its nike , dont rule it out
Answered by rbkgolfshop
If you hate those low CG driver, have you heard about Geek Golf? They are true loft driver and low spin…. and the head is not as big as yours…. just joking….

I would take the 400. You are not going to get full price for a used set.

  2. larrybud2004 says:

Don’t EVER buy clubs for your boyfriend. Clubs are very personal. It’d be as if he picked out shoes for you. Seriously. You can hit 5 different clubs, all which look similar, and you’ll hit 1 great and 4 poorly, all with the same swing.

If you want to buy an object rather than a gift card, dig through his golf bag and see if he plays a particular brand of golf ball. But I really think a gift card is best.

  3. pejon60 says:

If you don’t want to get him a gift certificate (which is a GREAT idea)
then why not go with him to the golf shop and let him test hit clubs,
find the one he wants and buy it for him.
Set a max price you can pay and if he wants one more expensive then he makes up the difference.

That way you learn a bit about golf
You both have some fun shopping (or as like men to call it BUYING)

Then have a nice lunch together

You both win then ….he gets a driver and you have spent some great time with him!

  4. dmartin2214 says:

Regardless of where you buy, I would strongly recommend either a Taylor Made R7 or R9 Driver.

  5. Lauren says:

I suggest that you check out NJGolfMan.com for discount golf clubs. My brother recently become interested in golf over the summer and was on the hunt for a cheap starter set and he happened to come across that site. He said their prices were good compared to bigger name retailers. I would go to their website http://www.njgolfman.com – I am actually looking to pick out something golf related for him for Christmas, so I’ve been looking around that site to see what they have to offer and I was so impressed.

    Hope that helps!

  6. unoriginalnamecreator says:

If you are already fading/slicing, then you probably do not want to go down in loft as this will make it more severe. Your best bet would be to go to a pro and get fitted for the right specs before you spend anymore money. You may not need the stiff shaft or your loft may be appropriate for your swing. I would also get at least one lesson to make sure there’s not anything in your swing increasing the launch angle too high

Lowering the center of gravity alone will not necessarily increase your arc height, it will help your swing balance more.
