    Question
I have an older set of tommy armour irons and i am trying to figure out which model they are, but all they have is a small gold tommy armour emblem on the back of the head on the two iron, and on all the other irons they have a small gold pga symbol.
    Answered by googie
In the 1990s the Tommy Armour 845s and 855s were the clubs favored by many club members for their design, feel and playability.
    Answered by Flatstick
The popular ones were the 845 and 855. But if you have a 2 iron in the set with a gold PGA emblem they are something different as the 845 and 855 were cavity backed and didn’t have that.
    Question
I’m on a budget and the local golf shop has these 2 iron sets on sale. I shoot in the Low 90′s with my Top Flight Irons. I have a big fade. I have TaylorMade woods and they’re awesome, but I love the look of the x-18′s.
    Answered by Paulo
Most good golf shops will analyze your swing for you and help you choose the best club. Plus they can re-grip them to optimize even further. Choose the ones that feel the most natural. :)
    Answered by shorrrno
the x-18s are better for the high handicapper as the larger cavity and wider sole are more forgiving. the r7 are a pretty high range game improvement club that border on a players iron, so for you i think the x-18
but the only true way to tell is to hit them both and compare. if your buying them in store this will be no problem
    Answered by John
If you are in the low 90s you should probably consider saving the money and getting some more lessons. When I was learning the game, I played on a set of Kasten Ping I2s from the 1990s and I found that less forgiving older technology will force you to true up your swing and in the end make you a far superior golfer than trying to make up for shortcomings in your swing with new clubs.

The Callaway irons have a lower center of gravity than the TM’s. That’s probably the most important distinction between the club heads. The TM’s likely have a lighter stock shaft and might be more forgiving on toe hits. Don’t underestimate how important it is to get fit for the best clubs for you. Technology can really help you. All that being said, a lot of people like Callaway and for good reason, they’re very well built irons.
    Answered by green_lantern66
They’re both in the “game improvement” category… so they’ll both have slightly thicker toplines and soles, more forgiveness, a higher launch… that sort of thing. It really boils down to how you hit each. The golf shop should let you demo each set (or at least, one iron from each set).

Hit them both. If they feel/behave the same to you, go with which looks best. If you can’t tell which one looks better, go with the cheaper set. Either way, you’ll be getting a good set of irons.

    Question
I recently purchased a set of Nike Slingshot irons. I like that 3 and 4 hybrids, but the other irons are have a wide sole which I do not like. These irons are heavier and I do not swing as fast. What is a good iron set that has a 3 and 4 hybrid and traditional 5-PW irons? Thanks.
    Answered by retired pro
Iron weights don’t change from brand to brand, at least any more than a few grams or the weight of a sheet of paper.

You might check out Adams Golf, but most manufacturers today typically sell their better quality iron sets starting at the 3i (4i in some cases), and then it’s up to you to do like the rest of us and use the hybrids you’ve got and stick the long irons you don’t use in the closet.

please look at the bridgestone irons. the j36 offers iron combinations available from combos to pocket cavities to cavity backs to blades. so an iron set can be mixed up with different combinations of your preference. hope this helps. good luck!
    Answered by ultimatebet247
Go with the callaway diablo edge. They have a wide sole but the weight is just right with the graphite shaft.

adams golf seems to have really good iron/hybrid sets, they have different sets for different skill levels

I played the Adams, and they are average in my opinion. I hit the Mizuno MX100 and loved it, only issue is it comes in a 4 and 5 hybrid rather than 3-4 hybrid, but for the better quality you will get with Mizuno it would be worth looking at for sure. Also, if you swing the 6 and up irons they aren’t nearly as wide soled as some of the Nike clubs I have hit. You also get better feedback from these clubs. I like the Diablo second behind the Mizuno, but I think they also have 4-5 hybrid combo. Good luck, hope you find something that works for you!
    Question
In 2004 there were 2,004 sets of Nike irons with Tiger Woods’ name on the blades. These irons were the exact duplicates set to his own specs in every way. How much can I get for them now? I don’t want them anymore.

    Is the 5-iron bent?

There are several web-sites that will give you a “value”. Maybe check EBAY to see ehat people are paying for them. Probably the best place to sell them too. Are you getting rid of them because of the latest Tiger BS or are you changing them for better reasons.

I have to laugh at how judemental we are with people like Tiger. I think if you were to take all of the men under the age of 30, give them a billion dollars, I bet a whole lot of them would get in to trouble.
Does that excuse Tiger, no……But seriously, I think 1 in 4 men cheat. He is going to have to write some big checks for this and then maybe he will grow up a bit more.

You should also try a pawn shop. When the economy took a drive many of the pawn shops received merchandise that was of a higher quality than normal. You might get lucky and find a decent set.
